For those of you who use belly bands, Question for you please :) So Jesse is wearing a belly band because he isn't trained to go on a pad inside, until I can figure out how to pad train him I'll use bands. I was wondering which pads you all find the best? I've tried several, some are to bulky, some are to thin! I don't want to buy the expensive ones either because he goes through them so quickly! Any suggestions? :) |

I use baby diapers. I don't put them on like girls I just wrap it around the middle then toss in garbage. |

I will put a belly band on Levi occasionally, usually only as a courtesy if we are at someone else's house and they are concerned he'll potty on their floor. I use regular feminine pads (if they are long, I'll trim them down a bit) - but he's also never really gone potty while wearing a belly band, so if Jesse is still learning, you might want something a bit bulkier. |
Hey Darlene, I don't know if Jesse hikes, but I have a couple of clients with male yorkies that are pad trained, and hike...The smaller one, Harley, goes on a pad that is on the floor, in the bathroom, and about 1/3 of the pad is put up, against the wall...It works great for him, because he's only 3 1/2 lbs (btw, he's 9 1/2 years old!)....The other one, Max, is about 8 lbs. and his mom has a low tupperware container, about the size of a pad, and has the lid to the container set at an angle, inside the container, leaning against the wall...That works for him...If I didn't explain that well, I'll take a picture of it, and send it to you, next time I sit for them...(October 1st)...Hope this info give you some ideas...Maggie:wavey: & Co...:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:doghop: |

The Options are the ones I prefer, but I know people who like Poise. I see the question was asked about thickness....the Options pads are definitely thicker than Poise. |

For Bailey I have a pee pad put into a big container, something like a kitty litter box, but bigger so when Bailey lifts his leg it can't leak out. Jesse never marks, and when he goes pee he squats a lot and will hike once in awhile. The thing with Jesse is he is not indoor trained, hence the BB:rolleyes: |

I've sold tons of belly bands and even more of my washable inserts. I have dogs much larger than Jessie using them with great results. I'm sorry that the washable insert did not work for you when it is working successfully for so many satisfied customers who send me emails and come back to buy more of my Bumpkins Barriers. Had you contacted me before about this issue, I would have proposed another option at no cost to meet your needs. Or, given you suggestions on better usage of the product. If there is anything I can do to help craft another organic, chemical-free, washable and ultra-soft option for Jessie (perhaps using different textiles), please contact me by PM or through the contact us page on my website. I will do it free of charge. Of course, I cannot guarantee that any product will work for every single dog on the planet, but I am always willing to serve my customers as best I can and with their individualized needs in mind. |

1 Attachment(s) I hated the leaking with belly band, so I put women's sanitary napkin on top of belly band and it works great!!! It keep boys dry as well!:D I buy store brand like cvs, duane read, or target.... etc, so it doesn't cost much. sometimes, I use wee wee pad (fold in 3) and sanitary napkin on top of it, and it is money back guarantee no leaking at all!!!!!:) |

I use the Walgreen's brand bladder control pads (I think they're called Certainty). I find they work really well for my boys because it covers the entire belly band. No leaks too! |
