Bows For Boys How many of you put your boys hair up in a bow ? I am so mad. After brushing Andy's hair this morning we got all ready to go for a walk bow and all it keeps his hair tidy up there lol and it looks good. Well to me. My neighbor this morning made me so mad she said" Andy I didn't know you were a fag" I almost hit her. From now on when she wants to pet him and pick him up she can kiss my butt:mad: |
I always put a bow in Beamer's hair. I get some comments sometimes. Especially as Lil Bit the female is kept short so doesn't wear a bow. |
3 Attachment(s) Bows???? Attachment 327042Attachment 327043Attachment 327044 The red bow was before I owned my girls... I call him my Transvesdog!:D JMO: Anybody who knows anythings about Yorkies knows that Boys Wear Bows!:D |

She just really annoyed me |
My girl will wear her bows but my boy freaks out if you put a bow in his hair.... My teenage boys have a fit about it to. |

You're neighbor needs some sensitivity training. Tell her that many boys wear bows...my Barney is a diva who waits for his bow every morning. Him and Teddy and daisy all are getting new Halloween bows too. |
Wow what a rude comment for your neighbor to make! I put my boy in bows, I could care less what people think, I love it! ;) |
My family gives me a hard time about gatsbys hair but then they turn around and buy him bows so i guess they just like to mess with me if she bothered you then dont talk to her again |
Hmmm, I was having this same discussion with my dh the other night. He doesn't even want a top knot in Rhett, never mind a bow. But he just looks so darn cute in one... But in all seriousness, who cares what your neighbor thinks? If the bow makes you happy and it's not bothering your pet, then just blow her off. |
I would'a hit her. That was just rude and unneccessary. I bet he looked handsome! |
Okay, I can't resist and I apologize if I offend anyone here! But, the next time your neighbor calls your fur kid a "Fag," please don't hit her. However, when she reaches out to pet him, promptly pick him up and say "He prefers MEN...Remember?!?!" And, walk off! If bows in your fur kids hair makes you happy, who cares what others think!!! The nerve of your neighbor... |
I like the boys in bows also, but I prefer the ones that have like a little base ball on them or that look like a boy material. Remember it's your baby and you do what you want. Let rude comments just roll off of your back. Some people just don't know when to keep their trap shut!!! |
Fido often wears bows, i dont care what others think, he's just so cute with bows :) Just ignore your owner if she calls him a fag again. |
I put bows in Duke's hair all the time!! ;) Why cant they be fashionable too! |
There shouldn't be any discussion! I believe a top-knot is part of the standard! |
My boys are the only ones that will leave them in. The girls rub theirs heads against the couch until they get them out! |

I was just talking to my friend the other day about putting a bow in Zach's hair. She said the same thing your neighbor did. Zach's hair is getting very long in the front and he looks like a scale model english sheep dog. Where do you get bows for dogs. I don't want to put a regular hair band because I don't want to break his hair. I know I've seen some dogs with bows that have clips on them instead of bands. (so you know who won that argument). |
That comment was very rude...unbelievable. I don't put bows in Prince's hair, but I don't judge people who do. |

I just ordered some bows for boys on the internet but I had clips put on them instead of bands. |
I have not yet put a bow on Chance, and may never. I don't prefer bows on my boy. I do however just use an elastic band. I have no problems with folks who choose to do so, and would never make such and awful comment to someone like that about their precious baby!! |
I'm letting Teeg's hair grow longish, but the top of his head I keep short. When he was little it looked like my dad's hair. My dad died suddenly, shortly after I got Teegy and I decided I was keeping that little patch like "Gilly's hair" for fond memories. So no bows for Teegy and I'd tell your neighbour, yeah your husband loves it when Andy humps his leg. |
It's not something I personally do or would do, but for one, Jackson wouldn't tolerate a bow, and two, I'm not a girly-girl anyways so I just don't have a desire to do it. lol. I put him in bandanas and collars. But I would never judge someone for putting a bow in their boy dogs hair... it's not that big of a deal and unless it's causing them physical pain... who cares what people think??? |
That was rude! The child in me says "get her back"! Maybe make a comment about her appearance (Oh, I see you're eating a candybar, I guess you're ok with your weight). The grownup says just ignore her. Either way, I think it's adorable when they have bows in their hair and I enjoy doing my dogs hair (bow and all). |

Susan is a member here and she gives a discount to Yorkie Talk members. Click on this thread, there is the discount code and a link to her website. Oh, and you still need to put a band in the hair. Susan sells those bands as well. And you can select an alligator clip (which I prefer) or a barrette instead of the bands to put the bows in. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...giveaways.html |
Bailee wears bows, but now always. I order them from Bowbiz. He has boy bows ~ a couple with cars, a football and a train. I tell people that the bows come with the territory. A Yorkie is born to wear bows. :D |
