| ![]() Is it a 'yorkie thing' to bury food and such? When I give Milli her food, she doesn't eat it - she tries to bury it! She'll do the same with her puppy pad after she pees...she'll nose the puppy pad around until she's satisfied that her pee spot is 'buried'. Do all yorkies do this?? Is it normal or is it something I should deter? |

| ![]() It's not so much a Yorkie thing, as it is a dog thing. A lot of dogs do this. Back when our domesticated dogs were still wolves, food was scarce. They would have to compete with other dogs for food sources. So they would have to save some for later on, and would bury it in a good place that they could find it. This instinct is still engraved in most dogs. ![]()

| ![]() If I give Cooper something that he thinks is really special, he'll go out in the backyard and try to hide it. I've seen him bury things twice now and have only caught him because he comes in the house with a face full of mud! Last time I asked where he buried the bone. He brought me right to the spot and I literally had to dig 1 foot deep in the dirt and stick my hand in to find his bone.
