My furbutt is tagged. (: lol. You are an awesome person for taking the time to return the dog to his/her home. And for going the extra mile to verify that she was returned to the right place by investigating on FB. We need more people like you in the world. :) From reading this, I now want a collar tag, so thanks to whomever posted about those. I think it would be an easy cop out to say a tag wasn't there, but someone couldn't use that excuse with a collar tag. I looked up some on a Boomerang Tags website. Awesome product! |
That is so kind of you and your daughter to take the time to help. Your neighbor is fortunate you found their dog instead of animal control. If my dog was lost, I would want him back home asap, so I agree with you 100% about having ID tags on pets. For those who are interested in break-away collars or ID tags that are silent (the clinking sound drives me crazy), I love the ones I got from boomerrang tags. I do alot of dog sitting in the summer but put these collars and tags on the dogs that list our contact info instead. Boomerang Tags I have two stainless steel mini tag with the open prong for my own dog- one for his step-in harness and one for his collar. Careful... they do not come off easily. |
Sophie Kate is a proud collar/ ID tag wearing dog - never comes off her ever. When we walk she has a matching harness (I never walk her with a collar only, my Vet would string me up if I did). Needless to say Sophie Kate looks quite fabulous when she goes outside the house (and inside also). |
I have a slight obsession with dog collars and tags, LOL, so needless to say, Jackson is never without. Growing up, we returned far too many dogs that had on tags, that it seems silly not to put them on. The only time Jackson is without is during and after a bath and occasionally at night (he sleeps in my gated off bedroom) simply for comfort, or we never put one back on after the bath and forgot overnight. |
Thats so nice you were the one who found her! My baby wears his tag 24/7 unless its bathtime, hes also microchipped. On his tag i didn't put his name in fear that someone might find him and see what his name is and keep him since he will come to them when they call him. Instead I put in the front "I love my family" and my number in the back. |
How kind of you and your daughter to look for the dogs owner. Not only did you do a kind thing for the dog but you also are teaching your daughter how to be kind. I feel not enough parents do this. I always have tags on mine. When we got Reggie he got out of my fenced in yard 4 times. Both my husband and I were in the yard and in a blink of an eye he got out:eek: We are running the streets looking for him when we see him in this Lady's arms. He jumped on her lap as she was sitting in her yard. She did say that she called my phone. Also if you have a male neutering them helps them to stay home. The shelter just had him done and it did take some time for the marking and running to stop. But thank god he is now happy to stay in his own backyard. |
