| Question- Please Help Hi, I'm new to the board. I'm so excited to be here as I love yorkshire terriers! I moved to New Jersey for graduate school last August. I had to leave my 14 year old yorkie, Chloe, home in Florida with my parents. I miss her every day. After living away from home for a year and now, having established my own routine, I am ready to start looking for local breeders of yorkies. I would like to bring home a little fur-baby this December, so I figured now would be a good time to start researching. Unfortunately, I do not know anyone in the area (yet) that has a yorkie, so I'm hoping that I can learn about reputable breeders in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania area from fellow yorkie owners on the web and here, at YorkieTalk. Does anyone have any breeders they could recommend? I so appreciate your help! I can't wait to learn from everyone here. - Amanda

| Welcome to YT! I don't know of any breeders in your area but you can start with Yorkshire Terrier Club of America and see if you can find someone in the breeders section there. Good luck.

| A follow-up question. Thanks for the YTCA website! I have sent out emails to a number of the breeders on the site located in NJ and PA. I have another question, to all those yorkie owners who purchased through a breeder, did you learn of the breeder through word of mouth, referrals, online? And did you find contacting by phone was better/more effective than communicating via email? Thanks in advanced!
