We love his carseat. "Driving with your dog" article Driving With Your Dog Can Be Deadly - Unless You Take These Precautions - Paw Nation He loves his car seat. He can't wait to get in. His harness attaches to the clip in the seat and he falls right asleep! In fact, I had him on my lap and he was all squirmy until we pulled over and put him in the car seat. I really recommend it and thank you to the person who posted about it this time last year. Expensive--yes, but well worth it! We have the standard in charcoal so add $81 to the price.--$177 Animals Matter Companion Car Seat Animals Matter Companion Car Seat Item #: 71604F $96.00 Select seat style and color: 1 - sport console / pink2 - sport console / charcoal3 - sport console / sand4 - SUV console / pink (+$11)5 - SUV console / charcoal (+$11)6 - SUV console / sand (+$11)7 - standard / pink (+$81)8 - standard / charcoal (+$81)9 - standard / sand (+$81)A - 2X / pink (+$108)B - 2X / charcoal (+$108)C - 2X / sand (+$108) Qty: |
Do you have any pics of your guy in his seat? Just trying to picture how this works. Thanks! |
I don't know where the memory card is that has those pics. Here is a website that has pics. There is a pic of a Westie sitting up. Our little guy 95% of the time curls up in less than a minute and falls fast asleep. The other times he looks out the window. Animals Matter Companion Standard Car Seat - Dog Beds, Dog Harnesses & Collars, Dog Clothes & Gifts for Dog Lovers | In The Company of Dogs Oh--I wanted to add that his carseat is the standard size that goes in the backseat. |
Carseat I also agree your little dog should be in his car seat, buckled in! Our Sprocket was allowed to "roam" before he came to us, I'm just not capable of the concentration it takes to do dog and traffic. It's not safe. But I sure didn't pay that much for our car seat I bought ours at PetSmart for I think $39. It hangs off the back of the car seat and is attached with straps, he is attached to the car seat with a clip to his harness. The seat sits up high so Sprocket can see out the window at the cars and people going buy. Now Sprocket is 10lbs and he can lay down in the seat and nap if he choses to, though he very rarely does, too busy watching the cars and people outside and I take him everywhere. The seat gets a good workout. Sturdy :animal-pa |

Are these seats easy/fast to get in and out? |
I agree, car safety is so important. I got in a bad car accident w/ airbags and everything and if Jackson had been on my lap, he would have most likely been dead. He was NOT strapped in and was fine but I am just so lucky. I bought a little strap that hooks into the seatbelt, but I am about to purchase a car seat. |

At what age/size do you think this seat would be appropriate? My baby is only 1.8 lbs right now. |
Awwwwww....your baby must be soooooo cute!!! My guy is about 9lbs now. We got the car seat when when we got him at about 4-5 lbs and he was about 6 months old. I think you could put the him/her in it as long as you have a harness that fits properly. |
I SO agree about the car seat, the one we have is also easy to move from car to car, front to back seat. Sprocket has learned to "get up" when it's time to get out, or "wait" until I am ready to pick him up cause I have soooooo much other junk to move and he is to be moved special. But I have always thought that the bed type would be so nice especially if you had two our more babies to ride or maybe on a trip. |
I too agree that the carseat was one of the best investments I've made! I have leather seats and I can't tell you how many times I've had to slam on the brakes and worried about the little ones sliding right off onto the ground. I finally said enough was enough so we splurged and bought a carseat. We have one similar to this one, the Snoozer My Buddy Lookout. It's huge and takes up over half of my backseat but it's so worth it. Franklin and Maggie LOVE it! They can look out the window and I know that they are safely strapped in.:thumbup: |
Franklin and Maggie the terrible two's I love your picture! JUST CAN'T BE! Ya Sure. Love them to death, but boy I just can't leave that "poor pitiful me" stare, "can't I go in the car?" I'm such a sucker. Have you ever traveled any distance with your larger seat? Say several hours? I was wondering if it would be better than the day to day smaller one, which BTW is great for short hops, but longer, I don't know. Has anyone traveled any distance with the larger "bed" type. They look so good I'm tempted to get one just for the trips to Vegas and up the coast. Thanks for feed back. :animal-pa |
wow! Now I want to learn how to drive and get a car for this! I dont have a car but it is a good investment for taking cabs in NYC! |
I have the same car seat as Taxlady. Just bought it this summer. Otherwise Bella was laying on my lap. I horse camp and pull a trailer thru Indianapolis and that's when Bella decides to run from passenger seat to my lap. I had to do something and this is what I did. Works real well. She's still adjusting tho. But she can look out the windows and can lay down in it. She weights 6-7 lbs. |
