Foster kitty, haha, we all know how that goes. I fostered a pregnant Doberman once and she had her puppies here. Then ended up getting strangles and I asked that they be placed in another foster home because I was too over-whelmed. The dog was older and aggressive towards my other pets so I could barely take her in and out without a scene. She delivered 9 but I watched one slowly die and be rejected, and 2 other's were still born.:( It was heartbreaking, but if they would have been healthy I would have ended up with one, no doubt! |
Oh, sorry to hear that, at least you tried, I don't know if I could've done that, lots of kudos for you. These furry creatures speak to us somehow, don't they?! All the humans who look out for our furry creatures are their angels in disguise. someone has to speak for them.... I think if I bring in another four legged creature into the house I'll be up for adoption!! I'm sure there are many of us on this forum in this situation!! |
every one of my 5 cats started out as a "just til we find a good home". I started fostering with a local rescue because i found out that they had cats living in cages in garages, they had no room. thankfully my newest foster who arrived pregnant and in labor(and sadly lost all 5 of her kittens) is on her way to her new home in about 3 weeks (we wanted to wait until a school schedule had been established before we added kitty) my rescue has o age limits on kids but all children have to take a verbal test to see if they understand what having a pet means. last year my 9 year old brother fostered 10 gerbils all by himself paid for there food and bedding out of his allowance (this was not a official foster situation). |

These fostering stories are amazing. The Yorkie rescue website is irresistable!! |
1 Attachment(s) Ahhhh another one! Adoptable Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie: Tomac: Petfinder Soooo close (1 hour away from me). Why can't I just make up my mind, lol. I sent an e-mail and got this back: Tomac just came into Rescue today - Saturday 8-14. He came to us from the Washington Humane Society and is a year old. Since we have only had a very short time with him, it is hard to give a lot of information about his personality. The owners that gave him up said that he did well with children, liked other dogs and was an all-around "good dog". The only negative was that he "really was bad" in a crate. We found this to be true - when in a crate he acted like he was going to eat someone, as soon as he was out he was fine. Tomac is small - about 10 lbs and very handsome. He has been heartworm checked and vaccinated. He will still need to be neutered. If you are interested, please submit an application and follow-up with an e-mail. |
Tomac is very handsome and looks like a happy boy. Oh the agony! Don't you wish that you could bring them all home? |
Tomac is really handsome and I just love the bigger boys... Good luck with making the decision but on the other hand since Yorkies choose their moms and dads you will get the right 'vibe' as soon as you are chosen... ;) |
^^ Tomac got like 5 applications within the first 2 days of him being listed! I am so happy for him. He's going to go to a good home I'm sure. Now, this other boy has been completely tugging at my heart strings... I seriously just love him. He's actually bigger than I wanted to go... it says he's 23lbs. But he looks like he has the same frame as Jackson and doesn't look much bigger than him. Adoptable Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie: Wizzer: Petfinder Wizzer is looking for a new home! Wizzer was born on 1-24-09. He currently weighs 23 pounds. He is heartworm negative, on heartworm preventative, and is up to date on vaccinations. Wizzer is great with children of all ages, cats, and other dogs. Wizzer is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered Sooooo.... I couldn't resist and I sent the rescue an e-mail. I usually get back a "oh, he's got an adoption pending" or "we don't do out of state adoptions" or something goes wrong, or doesn't seem right. He's all the way in Mississippi. BUT, she e-mailed me back today and said they would gladly arrange a ground transport to get him to me, that he's still available, and I gave her my vet references and my phone number for the foster mom to call. Ahhh, am I completely crazy? Probably. |
Not only petfinder but I'm alway looking at "Yorkie Rescues & New Homes Needed" Now I have 3 because of it. I must stay away:D |

Hello everyone, my name is Rachel and i'm hopelessly addicted to petfinder. I'd say i view at least 2-5 times a week and am always interested in at least one dog on there. I admit i can't afford three dogs and we just got our second. also dh would kill me if i really brought home anymore, but it's hard to not look at them and wish that i could save them all. maybe i'm a gluton for sorrow but i can't help hoping that they can all come home to me and i can save and love them. so anyways. i'm Rachel and i'm hopelessly addicted to pet finder. nice to meet you. |
This is just too much. I JUST got off Petfinder and there is a little guy at the Seaaca shelter they are calling a terrier/mix. I think he's a Yorkie/Poo and he's a Doll Face however I have 5 and my DH would kill me . |
