| Spikey ate the gauze Last night my daughter removed her gauze from her leg in the bathroom. Spikey was with her, she dropped it on the floor and Spikey ate it. She tried to get it out from his mouth but he just swallowed the gauze (cloth). Now, I'm worried, this morning he pooed and the thing didn't pass out yet. He is eating normal and acting normal (as per usual active mode). Should I even worry? Spikey must have a big throat, he is less than 3.5 lbs but he is eating everything and each time we try to get it out, it disappeared within a few seconds. Yesterday I gave him the vitamins pill, he didn't even chew it. The vitamins is big and not small. Is any of your yorkie like that too? |

| I hope I can add some relief to your worry, but if there are any signs that your little one is in trouble PLEASE RUN NOT WALK to the Vet. Maxwell, King Charles Cavalier ~ eats fabric...not just a little of it but he will eat 1/4 of a quilt in no time what so ever. Only when unattended...and only when "hes in the mood" but he will ingest a substantial amount of quilt. It usually takes two days for fabric to pass his system....( and this is how we mostly find out hes been naughty...you can see the cotton in the stool) and its really fun when the lawn mower goes over it cause our front yard looks like a cotton mill....big tuffs of it everywhere. Max is a bit bigger than your yorkie by about 10 pounds....but I also dont want you to totally freek out about the gauze. If he ate a small amount most likly it will pass with no difficulty....but if he seems to be straining....bring him in to the vet. |
