Rizzo has his long tail, and I wouldn't have him any other way :D |
The docking of tails is banned here in England so all of our dogs have their natural tails. The only dogs here who have docked tails are certain working dogs, or if they have to have them docked for medical reasons. |
I wish the CKC (Canadian) would see posts like this and realize that Yorkies don't necessarily need thier tails docked anymore. It's my understanding that they used to be a working dog (chasing rats years and years ago) and thus the tail docking was for easy cleaning and to prevent injury... It's illegal in this province (NS) to dock a tail. Vets can't perform the proceedure without risk of a HUGE fine. So if a breeder wants to follow the standard they have to do it themselves. My breeder is stuck trying to decide what to do now, cause she doesn't want to do the procedure herself, but may have to learn. I know I couldn't do it, I'm too squeamish |
Ugh i personally dont like the idea of docking a tail, altho i know around the world it happens. Here in the uk its not allowed and all dogs run around all in tact :) I know a miniature Pincher that has her tail docked and she goes around wagging her stump, you cant help but fall in love lol. Also my friend rescued a jack russle and he had his tail docked.... he also trys to wag his little stump lol to cute!! I am gonna love that Poppy has a long tail tho :D xxx |

LOVE tails!!! I hope it gets outlawed at some point also. Why change what they were born with? JMO I also love the little nubs (Aprils wags 100 mph:D) , but given a choice, I would not dock my babies tails :) |

I like long tails rather than docked tails. How will you be able to communicate with them if they have docked tails? How will you read their emotions? |
