I need HELP ASAP!!! So i posted earlier about gettin my puppy Hazel tomorrow. the Breeder is my friend. She just texted me telling me that something is wrong with Hazel. She says that Hazel has a lump on her head, and that she has been super quiet since she got her shot on friday. Hazel is also 8 weeks old. being my friend, she doesn't want to sell me a defective puppy, so she offered to sell me her other girl puppy. My thing is, i'm already attached to this one dog. And we've been calling her Hazel since she's been born. She offered to take her to the vet and get her checked, but i'd have to wait until wednesday. i know Hazel is young and shouldn't be leaving her mother yet, i understand that as discussed earlier. Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong with Hazel? i don't want to take the other girl puppy, but if whatever is going on with Hazel is deadly, then i suppose i'll have to. Shes bringing me both puppies to see tomorrow. I don't want to reject Hazel, and then she's fine. |
I would wait until she's checked out by a vet. Whatever she has does not sound good. It could be an open fontanel. Take that with a grain of salt, since I have not seen your puppy, and I'm not a vet. |
I would wait to see the vet.. Hope everything is okay with Hazel. |
Have Hazel seen by a vet then make your decision. It may be nothing to worry about. I will pray it is nothing and you can get the little girl you are so attached to. |
I would not wait untill wednesday to take her to the vet, i would take her ASAP. xx |
Was the lump on her head or neck..it could be from the shot...some get a lump if the area is not rubbed well and the vaccine collects and the vaccine is slow to disperse. Wait for a vet check..she is very young, there is so rush..she should be with her mom and littermates for another month anyway... |
First let me say that Hazel is a cutie pie!! Love your avatar picture. I agree it could be from the shot. I also agree that she should be seen by the vet asap. So I would worry yet!! May I ask why she can't stay with her mommy for a few more weeks?? It really is important. Good luck with her and please let us know what the lump is and if you are still getting her. Good luck and I hope all goes well with her! |
She is adorable. I do agree with the other posters. Wait the week until she gets to see the vet. You have waited patiently this long...whats another week or so? Hang in there until the vet gives her the ok. If something is wrong...then you can decide if it is something that can easily be corrected with meds or surgery. Do not rush into taking another pup without the knowledge of what is wrong with the pup your heart is set on, because then you will undoubtedly look back and wonder, "What if " ? Please keep us updated as to your decision. Best of luck |
Yes I would sit back and just wait a bit and see. Hopefully it is nothing serious. I know when you get that special connection you can't hardly stand to not see it through. Toes and fingers crossed for you and Hazel |
Sorry, but sit back and wait? She needs to see the vet ASAP. |
I would wait, and I would also wait a few more weeks to bring her home. Why are you bringing her home so early if you know she shouldn't be leaving yet? I pray nothing is wrong with her, I know how devastating this must be. |
Hi everyone! Thank you ALL for your advice. As i said the breeder said she called the vet and they had nothing open until Wednesday, well i just told the liberty of calling myself, and i got Hazel an appointment today at 4. Hopefully the breeder will be able to make that appointment, if not idk whats going to happen. Thank you all for your blessings and wishes. i hope she is alright! i LOVE this puppy! i will keep you updated! |
Sounds like a bit of a reaction from the shot. I agree with the others. The lump could be from the shot if it is located where the shot was given. I further agree to wait till the Vet appt. Glad you could get one for today! Good luck! |
my question is, do they really give shots on their heads? i hope not! sheesh. |

Generally it is given between the shoulder blades on the saddle. At least that's where mine get there's. I sure hope this works out for you. |
