| Anyone keep cotton coat...LONG??? I'm thinking of letting Zhoie cotton coat grow long. Does anyone keep your cotton coat in a long coat. If so, how do you manage it? What products works the best and what is the process to apply and care for it. Thank you all for the help!

| BUMP! I'll be growing Kaji's hair out after the summer. He's a soft coated dog too. This is going to be interesting.

| You know, I am also thinking of growing Piper out this winter. She has the maltese soft coat so it should be fun!

| My Azrael has an extreme thick cotton coat. When it was long, I had to brush her out twice a day and it was a long process since I had to virtually brush a little section at a time. I used #1 All systems shampoo & conditioner, but gave her a hot oil treatment before the bath. I actually had to mix the conditioner with Panteen conditioner. It was all a bit too much for her, and for me, so I ended up cutting it all off and have never regretted it for a minute. Here is a before and an after picture.

| I am in the process of letting my Yorkie's cotton coat grow out now that I have heard about a great product from other YT members called PEK conditioner. We'll have to see how it goes! She has always had a puppy cut!

| Oh yes........I forgot about the clothes part and all the matting she use to get anytime I put a sweater on her. Even her harness would mat her at the arm pits and shoulder blades. Was terrible!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | All 4 of mine are in full coat but Pixie and Nikki have easy to care for silky coats. Cali and Roxie have cottony coats that are very difficult to keep matt free. I use Pet Silk, mink shine shampoo and conditioners, emu oil spray for mats and good brushes and combs. It is a lot of work and I am thinking of cutting Cali down and then let it grow back. She hates to be groomed so she would be the best to cut down.

So, you just put clothes on her in the winter time? Sometimes Zhoie gets to cold with the AC on, LOL.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | We live in Michigan so it get pretty cold here... In the cold months Izzy is going to wear those pj's under her coat...the pj's have long sleeves, this way she'll stay warm if she goes outside

| My Harley has a cotton coat and it is pretty long. I use Chris Christinsen Ice on Ice spray daily with a CC Wooden Pin Brush and a CC buttercomb. I bathe him every other week with the Spa line of products made by tropiclean, which has a really great thick conditioner. However I do take him to the groomer every other Friday for a professional job. We don't have alot of problems as long as he can stay on his normal groomer schedule, but if we ever have to skip a week, things go down hill really fast! Jeri and Harley |

| Keoki had very long hair for a long time- it was alot of work but he looked adorable. I used Buddy Wash and had to make sure i brushed him twice a day- i will see if i can't find a picture. I sut it shorter now but in the winter he's a short shaggy- my little hippie dog I feel like his cottony coat is easier that a silky coat |

| I actually think we might have gotten our dogs from the same breeder Perella. Lucy has a silky coat though; but I love the fullness of a cotton coat too. My cousin wants a yorkie and she loooves the cotten coat. Your baby is beautiful!
