Pippin is home from the vet We just got in from Pippin's first date with Dr. Jones. :) Overall, she seems to be a healthy little girl. I told him that she was only 6 weeks old and 7 ounces when the breeder sold her and he said he was surprised she was still alive. His main concern is hypoglycemia, because she is so little. But, she was up to 15 ounces! Yay!! :D Her fecal was clean. No worms, coccidia or giardia. He thinks she has earmites, but the scope was too big for him to see into her ear. He also did not want to give her shots today. He wants to wait at least a week and let her settle in here with me. Dr. Jones said if she's still eating well in a week, then he'll do her shots and check her ears more. Until then he doesn't want to do anything that will distress her or throw her little system off. He said it's better to be cautious, since she will be inside and only around my vaccinated pups. Dr. Jones' wife showed and raised yorkies for many years, so he is very familiar with the breed. I'm so glad I have him to help watch out for my little girl. :) |

I am so happy you had a good vet visit. It must be great to have someone with so much experience with the breed helping take care of your baby. She is just so cute I can't say that enough. Keep us updated...as if you won't want to talk about her. he he he :) |

"The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow, for furbabies grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow. So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep. I'm rocking my Pippin and babies don't keep." When I found this little pillow.....I knew it was soooo true......had to have it! |
15 ounces! She is ginornmous now :D! WHAT are you feeding her :p? Your vet sounds just great, so glad he waited on shots since she is such a wee one. Lol...so she follows you? Marcel is my velcro dog too, and was from day 1. When he was a puppy (and so tiny) we put a bell on his collar when we were home, bc we were so scared of stepping on him. We would always take his collar off when we left the house. Now that he is older, he can wear his collar all the time...and he still wears his little bell :p! Pfeiffer wears a bell right now too, bc she is a "follower" too - except she will "follow" you in front of your walk, between your feet, as well as behind your feet - so she is really a stinker! |
I didn't realize you had another little one Bonny! Congratulations, I'm sorry that there were issues though :( I hope she is doing well now!! |

And I really like what you wrote. I'm seriously thinking of typing it up and putting it in a small frame. Unfortunately, it's all too true - they do grow up soooo fast. |

I definitely will. I'll take any excuse to hug and kiss on her some more. Thanks! :D |

She came with the cutest pink collar but I took it off right away. It isn't a break-away one, it has the prong and clasp. I was worried about her getting it caught on the x-pen and hurting herself. But I do need to put a bell on her she's so quiet. I just need to find a tiny collar that I feel is safe enough. I have lots of "followers" like Pfeiffer. I love how they need to "help" me get around the house and don't know what I'd do without them. I'd probably get lost going down the hall or something. ;) |
