Yorkie Little girl Names
 

Hello Everyone

Well i went to see the little yorkie girl tonight. She was in a lovely home and really well looked after. The man answered ALL my questions and he was so lovely and understanding about me asking so many questions. The mother of the pups was so cute and really healthy. She tried to stop us from picking the pups up bless her lol. The farther was not allowed near the pups and was kept out the way but was also very healthy and friendly. I was so pleased when i seen his home, it was very clean and the pups where all tucked up in a wicker basket bed snuggling into a teddy bear!! I just had to take her and left my deposit with him for her.... so shes MINE!!!! :D:D I get her when she is 12 weeks old. I thought she said they where 3 weeks old but they are actually 9 weeks old haha oops!! So i get her in just over 3weeks. I can go see her anytime and he is going to sent me some pictures as the grow a little bigger. When i got home tonight i got a txt of him saying ''good night my new mum and dad luv Puppy x'' which i thought was really lovely.

Ok so help me with some girl names please, i REALLY like the name poppy and think i may call her that, but if anyone can think of any more cute girl names?? Any ideas??

I really like that name. I'm working on a yorkie garden myself. I have Daisy and most recently Lilly. I have a list of doggie/flower names for future reference and Poppy is on my list. Don't know what I'll do if I ever get a little boy. Congrats on the new baby.

Thank you I also love the name poppy just wanted to hear a few more names before i decide for defo hehe! I do think i am going to call her poppy tho i think its so sweet :D Now what do i need to get before she comes home. I have 3 weeks to get all i need. Is there any books i should get to help with training that are really good? xxxx

I got my first yorkie earlier this week :D
I went through so many names (including Poppy!)
She ended up being named Rosie :)

Rachel: Your baby looks like my Austin. Its so cute. If we put them together, they look like twins..LOL

Small world! where abouts?
I would recommend you get her:

1. crate/pen
2. pee pads
3. the puppy food which she is on at the moment
4. eye wipes
5. worming syrup/tablets
6. LOTS of chew toys (those puppy teeth are sharp!)

and the obvious things like bed, water and food bowls ect :)

EDIT: Oh and I got her from a friend of my boyfriend who has 3 yorkies and one had pups :)

I had an IG named Poppy, she passed in January at 17 yrs old, so maybe it's a good name for long life.

I also like the names Mercy, Marcy, and Macy. Also, Evie would be a good name, I think, for a first dog :)

Can you tell I like two syllable names that end in y or ie?

I always like the name Madison if I had a girl. Or Madie.
I started to like Hilary but got a boy instead name Austin. =)

Thanks for the names :D I think i have set my heart on Poppy tho (thanks rachel hehe) I txt the breeder today and told him to start calling her Poppy.

I got a txt off ''Poppy'' tonight haha saying she hopes her new mum and dad have a nice night, very sweet breeder. I have been shopping and bought a few pink toys and blanket for when she arrives. I am so excited!!!!!

Anyone know any good UK sites where u can get nice girly dresses that aint to expensive? Where do u get your Poppys clothes Rachel?

Sorry to ask again but is there any booked that might benefit me if i read. I seen a cesar millan book but i didnt know which one to choose there about 8 of them. Please help lol xxx

I got my first yorkie last week. We were planning on naming her Pixie before we met her, but once we saw her we thought that she acted more like a Lexie.

She is about 3 months, and believe me you will probably fall in love with your little Poppy on the first day. My lexie is a little sweetheart. I don't know if you are planning on training her to use a pad or to go outside. But what I would recommend is training her to use a pad because grass could poke them and it could also be to tall. You also don't have to worry about taking them outside when the weather is bad. I tried to train my little Lexie to go outside, but she really didn't like to go outside. It was easier to train her to go on the pad. I even heard that they prefer doing their business inside than out.

I have only got one book about yorkies its called 'Yorkshire Terrier by Rachel Keyes' I bought it from Jolly's in westdenton if you know where that is?? I dont know which part of Newcastle your from.
They sell a few yorkie and puppy books in Pets at Home which is next to Asda (near metro centre) too.
I get most of my clothes for Poppy off Ebay because there arnt many nice clothes in the pet shops here, you can get some really cute cheap ones from shops on ebay :)

Yeah i went to pets at home near Asda today Rachel and bought a pet bed and a XXXS collar and a few more bits and bobs like some soft treats and pet bowls etc, i spent about £40 i just went in for a nose haha!! Thanks i will have a look online and see if i can see any nice dresses hehe! I live near Blaydon btw :D xxx

Wait on the dresses until you get her home. She's going to do an awful lot of growing in the next couple of weeks (though I completely understand wanting to go buy everything in sight in anticipation!)

And I love the name Poppy. I also like Molly and Emma.

Ahh! I was in Pets at home near Asda today too! You could have totally seen Poppy :D

Oh and quick tip you MUST go to Pets at Home and ask for advice on puppy food.
We had Poppy on Winalot puppy canned food and I wanted to switch her to dry food because I heard its better for their teeth.
Anyway I went to Pets at Home today and I was looking at Bakers dry food and stuff but I didnt really know what was what so I asked the girl who worked there.
She recommended me Wainwrights chicken & rice dog food, she said its really natural with no added stuff and that its the best stuff for them.
So because Poppy is on wet food at the moment she said I should start mixing the dry with wet to get her used to it so I said I would buy Wainwrights chicken & rice wet food which comes in an 8pk for £4.59 and the big bag of dry chicken & rice food was £7.19 and they said because shes a pup and they want to get her off on the right food they gave me the £7.19 bag of dry food for free!! and threw in a free measuring cup too! I wish I had went there and asked about her food from the beginning lol so I say deffo go there and ask and you will get free food :D

Aw see we all love the name poppy :D I am going to see her on Sunday this week to see how much she has grown. The breeder asked me to come and see her again and i jumped at the chance. I cant wait!!! I am so lucky having such good breeders.

I am over spending on her tho and she aint even home yet haha! Oh well she is very worth it. Thanks i might wait on buying puppy clothes just yet till she grows a little bigger, thanks.

I have put a picture of her up on my aviator (she was 4weeks old in this picture) she is very very cute :D just like her mummy (her yorkie mummy not me haha) xxx
