I was just screamed at for picking up poop I took my dogs for a walk this morning the 3 puppies were in their stroller and my 9 year old Maltese Casey was on a leash. When we got to the corner Casey did his business on the easement grass when I bent down to pick it up with my bag the lady that lived their start yelling at the top of her lungs HOW DARE I LET MY DOG SHI.. ON HER LAWN. I told her I was picking it up and she said she didn't care it still leaves a trace and now other dogs will want to go their and if my dogs had to crap to let them do it at my house and get out of their. Then said started screaming at me that she didn't want me to walk by her house again with my dogs to pick him up she didn't even want him on HER sidewalk. What was wrong with me to get the hell out of their and don't come back. She clearly is got a problem about dogs. The only reply I made was that I picked it up but I'm still shaking it upset me so bad. I went home on phone the police and they sent a car down their to tell her to shut up the dogs have the right if the people clean it up. I wouldn't have called if she didn't sound so hateful giving me warning not to come back that way again.:( |
What the crap? No pun inteneded, of course. But, seriously? If you had just left the poop on her yard, then I could understand her frustration. But you picked it up! I mean, seriously. What's wrong with people? Even if I could understand her frustration, she has no reason to be that upset over it. Some people are just rude. I hope you're feeling better now! |
Wow...I really can't believe she reacted that strongly. I can understand her not wanting dogs taking care of business in her yard, regardless to if you pick it up or not. This is where one bad apple spoils the whole bunch. Sure YOU may pick up after yours, but how many others come along that don't, ya know? (Even if it is an easement, she is probably still responsible for maintaining it.) Still, geez. Overreact much lady? Maybe next time just walk on the other side of the road. ! |
Wow, here you were a responsible pet owner, and she still gives you grief. I can't believe the police even came out, and I really feel sorry for that lady, she must be such a hateful person. I'm sorry you're feeling bad, you were doing something good for your babies, and it should have been an enjoyable walk. Sorry, this happened. |
Make sure to dance by her place each day, I don't think she "owns" the sidewalk. :p lol No, really sounds like someone that could be dangerous or take dangerous measures to keep dogs away. I would probably avoid her place just to save myself a headache. Sorry you were treated this way. Bet you have had 100 things run through your mind of what 'you should've said' huh? I always do. :p |
Wow! Sounds like she needs some anger management. I find it hard to believe that you can keep EVERY dog in the world off your lawn. I think you did the right thing and obviously she is a very unhappy person to behave in such a manner. I think you did the right thing. Maybe the police will scare her into calming down a little. Wow, she needs a life. |

Wow! That is terrible. I try to not let Jackson on peoples lawns just because... however, sometimes things happen and oops! there comes a poop. I always pick it up of course. I can't imagine if someone starting screaming at me. I would be upset too! That woman has obvious anger issues and really needs to find other things to worry about. Quote:

Now in this case, it the the sidewalk is just near her house, in a common area, well then tough cookies for her! |
Sorry you were the one to get yelled at. But you never know what she has experienced in the past. You might be one of the few responsible dog owners but lots of people are not and it's probably not a nice thing to pick up other people's dog poo, who knows how often she has to do that. And then you poor soul came along and she saw you and you got all her frustration thrown at. I would not stay away if this is your usual route but maybe stay on the other side. And if you see her again give her a smile and say "Hello". She is probably totally embarrassed by now. |
I know it sounds silly to called the police out but she was screaming very very loud and over reacting like a nut case and in this world you never know if a person is really crazy. I won't go that way again. I didn't see her she was screaming out the window but I bet the whole block heard her. |
She's probably one of those bitter old women who don't change out of their cotton nightgowns and fuzzy slippers all day and sit at home reading Readers Digest, working crossword puzzles and yelling at the contestants on the Price is Right. She was probably jealous that someone else seemed to be enjoying themself! |
I live in a sub and she has the corner house. Normally my husband walks Casey in the evening but it just such a pretty day I thought I'd take them all out. I was on the sidewalk with the stroller and Casey was on the grass by the street which here is city property which the homeowner has to maintain. Even policeman said I was in the right as long as I picked it up and he was going to tell her to shut up and advise her on the laws in this city. |
Holy cow! That woman must be insane!! I have never heard anyone call a sidewalk "their sidewalk" LOL. Considering it is made for people to walk on, walk their dogs on, ride bikes, whatever. Geez, talk about overeact!! |
You should have thrown the poop off her!! Joke lol but she obviously sounds like she's a bit crazy. She dosnt own the whole street people and dogs are allowed to walk up and down it as they please! and if your dog needs to go then it needs to go, as long as it gets picked up then what is the problem :) Some people these days *shakes head* |

You were fully within your rights to walk the dog there, and fully within your responsibilities to clean up after your pup. In most places, side walks are owned by the cities or counties, even if they cut through someone's property. Anyone can walk on them. I'm glad you called the police and they were going to go talk to her. Harassment should not be tolerated. |
[QUOTE=BamaFan121s;3199087]She's probably one of those bitter old women who don't change out of their cotton nightgowns and fuzzy slippers all day and sit at home reading Readers Digest, working crossword puzzles and yelling at the contestants on the Price is Right and peeking out the windows at the neighbors. We had a neighbor who would bring his dog over to do his business on our lawn-but the real reason was to peek in the windows (silly old man-nothing to see here-move along);) |
Oh man. What a beoytch. I'm in the process of moving and scared to death I will end up with neighbors like that! I always take a 'poop bag' with me cause one of them never fails to poop. I wish I could train them NOT to poop on a walk. Sorry she ruined your day and GLAD you called the Po Po! |
I'm sorry this happened to you. Take comfort in your beautiful babies and forget this mean woman. She was probably taking out her frustration with inconsiderate dog walkers (non-cleaner uppers) on you. Wishing you a peaceful afternoon and evening. :) |

To the OP I'm glad you called the police...cause now if something happens to another persons dog (cause god knows what she could do-she's nuts!), then it will be on file as the police were once called out to her house for an incident. |

Either way, I would suspect the lady has had some issues with owners who don't pick up after their dogs in the past and maybe the OP was just on the receiving end of her anger today. I can't blame anyone for being a bit miffed if they find themselves constantly having to clean up after someone else's dog. :( |

We live on the edge of a new housing development. Our easements are 10'. Gives them 20' to do what they please in between yards. It's a bit annoying because we won't plant anything in that area since they are allowed to come dig it up whenever they please. People walk their dogs in our area because there is less traffic. No sidewalks yet. I know of several that allow their dogs to poo on the street and don't bother to pick it up. Very annoying. Last year, at school, someone was walking a large dog every morning and allowing it to poo in front of the school. Students were stepping in it and dragging the mess into the school. Principal finally caught who was doing it and it stopped. ~Joanne~ |

I finally mentioned something about stepping in it and it p-ing me off. They put their dogs up finally. |

So sorry your walk was spoiled by a nasty lady. You did the right thing calling the police, she needs to know that kind of behavior will not be tolerated. To bad we can't train people to be kind to each other. Just think how different your morning would have been if she had said, "Thank you for picking up after your dog I wish others would so the same." |

I live in a suburb turned medium sized city, and we actually do own the sidewalk we even had to hire a city approved company to come and put the sidewalk in and we had to pay for it (we wear reimbursed on our city taxes). I of course never tell people they cannot walk on our sidewalks but we have a problem with kids walking through the yard during the school year and agitating the dogs and we wear told that that was the price we pay for living so close to the school we are not allowed to put a fence up because the neighbors said no and the fence would have to border there property. so just be glad the local police said they would talk to her. |
ide walk by there every single day ... but thats just the kind of person i am my dogs dont poop on a walk they taught themselves that and its nice to not have to worry about. Dont let one cranky arse old lady get to you |
