How does your cutie let you know that he/she needs to go? Duncan will mumble, "err hmm hmm" something like this, then I know it's time to open the back door to let him out. I wish he could do something more civilized or more romantic~ |
Well, you can have your dog continuously & obnoxiously bang on a bell as hard as he can while growling at you, like my Cooper does  |
bark at the door |
Mine growls and mumbles... Then when asked "Do you wanna go outside?!" He kicks his feet in excitement and does what I call the 'shuffle'. |
He doesnt growle when he needs to go. However he does bark from excitement, I'm practicing ringing bell method, hopefully it works~ Thank you,~ Quote:

I wanna see how they do that!! Can you video shoot them!!! Quote:

Hammer sits by the door for what feels like 2.3 seconds. If I dont see.. then he'll just go on the kitchen floor. :rollseye: yes, we are working on that. ha. |

Thank god my Pasquale is pee pee pad trained....if he does #2, he comes racing down the stairs and does little spins to let me know he deserves a cookie for his "accomplishment". |

Well we have 2 schools of thought in our house.... Keegan boofs and gets louder until I let him out. Sweet Sophie pees on the floor then rings the bell so I can clean it up! She's kinda ditzy..... |
We see the "potty dance", circling in front of the door. Scarlett whimpers to let us know she needs to be carried to her pad. |
Mia will tremble a bit, if I miss it she will typically go to a potty pad that we have spread throughout the living areas. But she will tremble, give us the look before she decides we are not paying enough attention. |
DH put in a doggie dog for Jasmine. It has been a blessing. Miss Priss aka Jasmine, loves her door. We don't use it all the time, but when we do, she thinks she rules (and of course she does). Have a blessed day. |
Addie runs down the hallway, runs back to the kitchen/dining room, runs to the living room, sits in front of me with one paw in the air, throws her head back and gives a little growl. I'll say "wanna go outside?" She then spins in a circle. It's so cute, I have to admit to being a mean mommy and ask her a couple of times. Dany goes to the pee pad if she has to go. Mia just waits for someone else to let us know they have to go out. |
Tatum does the very low, quiet growl thing also. I really wish she would bark. She does bark to get back inside so I know she knows how to do it. ;) The first year of her life we were living at my MIL's while our house was being built. Can't tell you how many times she peed on the rug in front of the back door because we didn't know she was back there waiting for someone. You couldn't see the back door from other rooms though. At our house, you can see and hear her better, thank goodness. |
The girls use pads so nothing there. Baxter sits up and claps his paws together, usually. The other times are really weird. He has Bear tell us. The only time Bear barks in the house is when Baxter has to poop. Baxter will be lying around chillin' and all of a sudden Bear will jump up and start nudging DH and if ignored, bark. Then we know to take Baxter out. Mind you Bear stays in, we only take Baxter out. This works even if Bear is with DH in the basement, he'll start barking and DH will leave Bear in the basement, come upstairs, take Baxter out, then go back downstairs and Bear is relaxed and fine. It's like ESP. Bear is on a schedule of 3 times a day with 1 poop daily only and that is on his early morning walk. So, he really is just speaking for Baxter....how odd is that. I've never heard of such a thing. Any one else have dogs that do that?? |
My dear Mabel just squats in front of me and lets loose! That's how i know she has to pee! Sunday i was steam cleaning the carpet and while my back was turned she peed on my newly clean carpet!(while i was actually cleaning!) She has a fake grass potty box and will use that 50% of the time but she forgets and goes on the carpet. Pooping is another story...that she does anywhere except the potty box! She's only 7 months so we're still working on it. Hopefully she will get it down one day!:) Until then thank goodness for the Bissell! |

Boo will come sit directly in front of me and stare at me. If i don't respond right away he lets out a little whine. If i still don't move fast enough he puts his front paws on the footstool, shakes a little, and gives me a pleading look as if to say, "Mom, I"m too good of a dog to to in the house, let me go outside to do it the right way!" He always looks so proud when he does good, and I think he sees going potty in the house as a lost opportunity for praise. |

Beau and I haven't fine tuned our communication skills yet...I don't have a clue. |
Cody faces the door and turns and looks at us. Of course, that can also means that he wants to go outside and play -- oh well. I wish we could get him to bark or something to let us know. We'll just have to keep working on our communications. |
If I'm holding her Poppy will cry and get really uncomfertable, and usually tries to get down. But if she's on the floor she will usually sniff the floor, circle or start walking backwards whilst crying.. Then it's potty time :) |
Oh I forgot to add if she is already on the floor near a pad she will go straight to the pad to go potty :) |
Lu stares at us and then starts to pace around for a bit, if we don't notice then she just goes :( |
Mia typically does come over and tremble a bit or will be looking for a wee wee pad near a door if I am not watching close enough. I admit I should be watching closer at times. She is really pretty darned good at this proper potty spot thing! |

She doesn't make ANY noise at all. She walks to the stairs...sometimes down and back up if you don't follow her...if she doesn't feel like waiting she sometimes goes on the rug down stairs...we are also working on this since she is almost 7 months. |
The DUDLEY DANCE....paces from kitchen, living room, circiling at a quick pace. Then we say "gotta go potty" he kicks up the dance moves and we let him out:D |
