You really should have....it is NOT fair that I had to find this out after I brought her home.



Why didn't anyone tell me I would fall head over heels for this little 3 pound fur ball?!?! :D I am even in love with my grandmothers dog! Wow, Yorkies (and the mixed variety) really are a totally different type of dog!

no one can warn you about yorkie love because it is so overpowering they just can't help it i would have a house full if hubby would allow it

We could have told you, but you wouldn't have believed it until you experienced it yourself. ;)

But consider yourself warned on this point: It's hard to stop at just one!!

It really is. I mean, I love my Dane, she is the absolute best dog with my children. I never imagined my babies would cry because we had to leave our dog at home to go to the store but they do for Lucy. She is amazing....but the way I feel about Piper and Gracie (who isn't even mine!) Is different in a way I cannot put into words. They are special animals.

OH, Don't I know that!!! My husband has already said he knows how I am and he is waiting until I start looking for yorkie #2!! LOL!!

I had ferrets during my teens/early 20's. I started with one and ended with four!!

I'm not sure what it is that steals our hearts so quickly. There is something about my little Lucy . . . I just love her so much. I love my Westie too -but he seems to need me less. Lucy is my little shadow; following me everywhere; waiting and watching with those big trusting eyes.

I don't know what it is about Yorkies but I have loved every dog I have ever had but I didn't know what I was missing until I got a Yorkie.

I feel bad now....I love my great dane. I thought I was the luckiest woman in the world when we brought her home. She is amazing and I know she will be missed when her time with us is up.

But how can anyone not fall in love with a Yorkie? I got my first one, Penni back in 1984 and a month later (think it was about a month later) we bought her niece, Tuppence - Tuppence attached herself to my husband, Penni was mine from the minute I saw her at her breeders. I visted her every day until she was old enough to leave her breeder. It was love at first sight.

Shhh, it is a cult and when we try to explain it to outsiders of course they do not believe in it. They have to come into the inner circle and be 'exposed' to understand the power of the YORKIE. Welcome. Some of us once thought about going to airports and smacking the smaller ones like tambourines, but that won't work either. You have to not only see it but hold it for at least 10 seconds and breathe in the secret yorkie scent and then....gotcha!!!! instant member. Again welcome. Come here and ignore the discord of the various sects and just drink from the fountain of the all encompassing knowledge...

I feel the same way! Lol Miloh is the only one that has the power to turn my frown upside down. I never thought I'd feel this way about a "dog". He's more than a "dog" to me, he's like my son.

There's not a day that goes by that I don't laugh or smile with Bentley's antics! I, too never knew the immediate love you feel for these little ones.

I got my first yorkie when I was 20. 44 years later I still have a yorkie in my lap. I have had many other breeds but there is just something about the yorkie personality. They all have that ability to grab your heart and stay in it forever.

Hehe. There are many of us here who suffer from Multiple Yorkie Syndrome. Once you get one, you can't help yourself to get another.

LOL- I did the same thing with cockatiels before dh and I had kids.

And after years of fighting me on getting a yorkie (he thought they were too "fru fru") it was actually my husband who started asking when we were going to get Rhett his Miss Scarlett.:p

it is strange how they reel you in....i didnt even know what a yorkie looked like when i went to see Smokey.....2 hours later i had this darling widdle puppy ....hubby says.........why did you get that for....2 weeks later i catch him talking to a buddy calling him ""HIS"" dog.........lol......we now have 3 yorkies and 2 biewers..........lol

:sidesplt: OMG, This is too cute and my DH calls me the Crazy Dog Lady! Hi there, I've been lurking here and learning from everyone for months. My little boy Sprocket, came to me about 6 months ago and we are his 4th home. How anyone could have given him up is beyond me because I too am now infected by Yorkie love, OH, those big brown eyes, so innocent, and the who me look? Although I did not know that there was such a thing as multiple yorkie syndrome, I can see it! Shhhhh, I think DH may have also become infected with Yorkie love as he is the favorite (dog) play toy, and of course we don't mention this as DH trys to maintain his status of "oh no, not me", yah sure. Thanks everyone for all of the info and the laughs.

Lol, these are all too cute. I've been feeling the MYS itch lately, little Rizzo wants a play pal, but unfortunatly the time is not right for me to get another :( Maybe in a year or so :D

No chance... MYS is NOT treatable and resists all drugs! Even the YA (Yorkaholics Anonymus) closed their doors after many failing attempts to get the addicts 'dry'... the only result of the '12 step program' was that all the attending addicts didn't stop until they had 12 Yorkies... ;)

For me it's all in their eyes! Yorkies have the most beautiful,soulful true eyes! I never get tired of looking at them. I don't know what it is but you cannot explain it to a non yorkie person.:)

You are so right! That's why the decal on the back of my yukon says:
"It's a Yorkie thing..you wouldn't understand." I had 5 little paw prints with each of their names, then I got Tia..so I added another paw print with "Tia says me too!" :rolleyes: :p It's a sickness I'm actually glad I'm infected with!...and it's soooo contagious! :cool:
