When do they calm down!! Hi, I have a 10 month old female Yorkie who is a complete spaz. She's not settled down since the day I brought her home and I just wondered if she will eventually calm down, or if she is just going to be a bouncy ball all her life. My male is a calm little guy and was never this wound up at her age, and he's now 2 yrs old. Anyone else going through this stage? And did you survive... LOL! I love her, don't get me wrong. |
I understand and I have 3. My are so laid back and sweet when they are sleeping, but when they wake up and start playing it is like a zoo around here. Lots of energy. They are 16 months, 15 months and 9 months. I think it is the Terror in them. Hang in there. My girl is worse than the 2 boys. |
I went through that stage with three, and I survived!!! :D:D All kidding aside, they are all different some calm down sooner than others. Lots of exercise and play will wear her out :) . But 10 months is still very young. My youngest is almost three, and still very bouncy :D |
Im currently going through it. My little one is 8 months and he has TOO MUCH energy. But i love it! Its hard getting through this time. I hope eventually he will calm down after his "puppy" stage. |
LOL - I'm still waiting for Lil Bit, the 9 year old Yorkie to calm down!:D:D Beamer is calmer than she is.:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:animal-pa |
So glad to hear I'm not just going nuts... LOL! She's the sweetest little spirit, but she has to be crated because she won't calm down to sleep in bed with us, and our male was sleeping with us from day one. So she's in restrictions to be safe and for our sanity for sleep. But at least she keeps our chi pup on his toes. Always trying to sneak his toys away. Smirk. |
My Bella was a crazy girl for sure!!! She calmed down about 14 months Hang in there:D |
It's gets better. When I my cat was a kitten (who I still have 13 yrs later), I didn't get any sleep for at least 2yrs. Cats especially kittens are nocturnal (at least Zoey was) and she slept most of the day while I was at work and played all night. I would hear tt hings breaking in the middle of the night. I remember one time my kitten got caught in the blinds. I couldn't sleep because everytime I'd move she would attack me. Jeeze....it was brutal My little yorkie is very calm and relaxed. She is like me. |
Rosie is very calm. She is almost three years old. Her birthday is coming up soon, July 21st. She likes to sleep in my lap a lot! She only gets excited when my son comes in the room. She barks and barks at him. They both are very jealous of each other!! She likes to play and gets hyper then but most of the time very calm. |
She eventually will calm down!! Bella was really crazy at first and now she likes to lay down with me and rest |
Mine are Taylor and Bella. Chi named Max. :) |
Mine are calmed down and I don't want them to be. Maggie will be two in Sept. and Buster will be three in December. I want them to play and be rambunctious. I miss that! |
My two-year-old is still rambunctious. He plays full-speed all day long. Maybe one day he will calm down...but he is so entertaining and cute when he is bouncing around, throwing his toys, playing with other dogs, and getting into trouble. I wouldn't have him any other way :) |
Jackson's not "hyper" but he's also got a TON of energy. Like as a puppy, he was never super rambunctious like I've seen some puppies be. He's pretty go with the flow type of dog. But he's always been really active. I don't know how to explain it. Even though he's not hyper, he also can swim forever (jumping in and out of pool sometimes for 30 mins straight fetching) or run forever. He can go to the dog park for hours, or walk 4 miles and still come home and be ready for more. But he also has an off switch. He's not like a Lab for example. I've seen some really really hyper Labs. So he's active but not hyper. Anyways, I did notice a bit of a change in him at around 1 year old maybe a little bit. But I honestly love his energy and drive and motivation! He'll be 2 in October and I hope he keeps it up for a long time to come! My friends little one Nala is over 1 year old now and still lives up to her name 'crackhead' lol. Jackson is spazz and she's crackhead, ha. |
they calm down when sleeping and when sick...that's about it! I have a one year old male and female. he's fine and she's nutso. i love them both but she can drive me up a wall and down again at times with her incessant barking and high strung behavior.....i hope they do grow out of it, but if not it's bouncing ball of fluff at this house too. :D |
