YT Addict | question about the pee pad pups My axel is 10 months old and he used to pee like all the time at least 8-10 times a day! Well now all of the sudden I noticed he has one beg pee in the am when he gets up. If I leave him in his room for like 8 hours while I'm at work, he does not pee till I get home even though there is a pad in the room. And now that I'm off for the summer I noticed he is peeing in the am and then only like 3 times in the whole day? Anyone have this happen with there pup? Now poop ugg (he never seems to get that on the pad) and poops one or two times a day. thanks |

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | He is probably just getting better at holding it. Keep with the praise and rewards for every time he goes on the pads and he will soon start pooping on it too good luck.

Senior Yorkie Talker | I am no expert, but I feel that is normal as long as he is urinating on a regular basis. Puppies are able to hold their urine for longer periods of time as they get older. Although he may be going in other places you are unaware of. I keep food down all the time for my two, so I have them on a strict potty schedule: 7 am, Noon, 5pm, 9pm, and bedtime is at 10pm. We used to have accidents all over the house before we chucked the puppy pads and started the outside schedule. We only have accidents now on rare occasions. I reward them when they pee and poop, and they know in order to receive a treat they must do both. I still use the puppy pads if we are going to be away from the house for a while. If you get him on a schedule, I am sure he will do wonders for you. Just remember that the schedule must be followed strictly. I hope this helps you. Their are other posters who may have other ideas that may help you out as well. YorkieProud ISN'T IT FUNNY HOW THE SMALLEST THING CAN HAVE THE BIGGEST HEART? |
