I took Bee to one that was a no pet.
& I took her through a back entrance in the purse & I just put a pee pad by the door & in the bathroom & everything was fine. Just dont take them outside to the potty. :-) dont worry about it. Even at a pets allowed hotel you usually have to pay more for the dogs. So I would just still sneak them in & even if they bark the people in the room next to you would just think you were allowed to have them & then you can take them to the potty. It should be fine. We always did this with our dogs since I was little. :aimeeyork

Even worse, the hotel can go in and confiscate your dogs while you are gone. This happened to some guests at the Atlanta Hilton in May. They were there for the Maltese National Specialty being held there and it was supposed to be a dog friendly hotel. Apparently one night a few groups of people left the hotel for dinner and other guests complained about the barking. The dogs were taken from the rooms (in their crates) and removed to the basement until their owners returned, then they were asked to leave.
:eek::( That is what I would be afraid of if I was not going to be with them the entire time.

I think you should find another hotel which will let you bring you'r babies with you.
If you get caught they could kick you out then where would you go?
I dont think you should risk it.

OMG! how some people really exagerate!!
Its not like you are sneaking a german shepperd! That would be kind of crazy but a yorkie.. who fits in a bag..
I sneak mine in a hotel one time and i put a pee pad in the bathroom.. turn the tv on just in case she barks and it was perfect..

I guess me and boyfriend felt safe because we stayed in the hotel like 90% of the time.. :-/

we were lucky I guess..

the last trip I was going to do that, and thought no ill get a pet friendly (there are so many out there you should be able to find one) anyway, good thing cause sure enough they put us next to the pool with all the noise of the kids he was unguard late into the night ears erect! and barked alot more then I have ever heard him bark, I would not take the chance. good luck

To which city are you going? Maybe you could bring them to a vet/kennel while you're at the funeral, and have them in the room when you're there. If you post the city, I'm sure some members could give you recommendations of places.
Maybe there is a yt member in that city who could yorkie-sit for you while you're at the funeral.
If not, I would def find a pet-friendly hotel. I would not leave them alone...you'll have enough to be concerned about.

Oh and La Quinta hotels don't charge extra for pets. Big plus for me since I had my Yorkie, Boxer and Amazon parrot!

That is really good to know because I paid $25 extra per night for my dog, and if I'm not mistaken, the hotel charges the extra fee for each pet.

My family did it with another dog when we moved across the country and we were waiting to close on a house. The hotel fire alarm went off and my mother was forced to evacuate, walking the dog down the stairs with everyone else leaving the building, lol. She was so embarrassed.

We will be in North Charleston. Unfortunately, my husband already made the hotel reservation without checking if it was pet friendly. There is a possibility that the furbabies could stay at our aunt's for a few hours. But they are soooo good. They go everywhere with us and never make a peep. The Kwiggy Bo looks so much like a purse too.

I agree...that you should use a pet friendly hotel. Check out his website BringFido.com - Pet Friendly Hotel & Dog Travel Directory for the hotel in the area that you are going for a pet friendly location.
