Kasha took until 8 last night to have one (even tho I can tell they fed her junk which makes me sad) ... hopefully Mya has had one too by now. I am AMAZED at my little pup. You'd never know that she'd had 8 teeth and a spay 48 hours ago. She wants to play & run and chase after us. It's going to be quite difficult to keep her down for another week or so. Crazy little girl. Of course I now think I worried about the wrong part of this ... I worried about her being in pain & being without me ... not her being wacko and not hurting. |
Glad to hear Kasha is doing so well! It is sure hard to keep them quiet, isn't it?! Mya tires easily and has slept a lot of today, but when she is awake she's quite playful.. and poor Oliver is so confused as to why he can't wrestle with his sister, one of their favorite things! It's going to be a long week for sure.. lol. Just glad the worst is over. By this time next week they should be good to go and we'll have to make up for this week of quiet with a weekend of fun! lol |
Glad to hear Mya is doing well too! Awww poor Oliver! I love when puppies wrestle! I'm going to have to keep Kash away from her cousin later this week that's for sure!!! I'm already planning doggy park & brunch time for next weekend to make up for me being so mean to her! lol. |
Yay for everyone's speedy recovery(dogs & people) This surgery thing is so scary! Mabel had hers about a month ago and is doing great! Not so in the beginning...she ripped out her stiches(dewclaws too!) and she was even wearing a cone(too short). She didn't poop for 4 days...but when she did it was huge!! Also she acted different for two weeks like she was mad at me! she had to wear the cone(got her a longer one)for nearly two weeks to keep her from chewing her dewclaw incisions! But it was all worth it, It had to be done but i am sure glad it is over! What a relief!! I really don't know which is worse having the surgery or the agony of worry about it!! |
The worrying part is def worse!! It's also hard because they don't know why we wont let them lick, scratch or play rough! Glad to hear that Mabel is doing well (in spite of herself!)! They don't let us off without worrying, do they? |
The thing that gets me most is the look they give you when you leave them there. And then don't come back right away! PITIFUL! Do they wonder why you've gone and what they did to deserve being abandoned!? This thought breaks my heart! But boy are they happy when you come back! All they know is the vet does heinous, painful stuff to em. This breaks my heart!:( |
It's getting very difficult to keep Mya quiet!!! It's like I turn my back for 2 seconds and she's jumped on or off the couch, or Oliver has her pinned to the ground in a wrestling hold. I'm at my wits end! She's in her crate right now because she wouldn't stop trying to get Ollie to wrestle, no amount of "no Mya" or "no Oliver" seems to work anymore! Some of the stitches seem to have disappeared on the outside - I sure hope that means they have dissolved and the ones on the inside are ok. There's a little oozing but very small amounts. Now I'm starting to worry I'll have to take her back in to the vet - traumatizing for her, and for ME - I got soaked with the cost of her spay and I'm livid about it and would really rather not go back there anytime soon! On that note... how's little Kasha and Kobe doing? Everyone healing up? |

Kobe is doing good, I can't get him to keep still either and it driving me nuts. The only place i can keep him is in my room because my bed is to high for him to jump on, but then all I hear is whinning. UGH... and he doesn't want to listen to me right now either!!! So once i take him get his stitches out... I'm gonna put him in a yorkie head lock until he remembers who's in charge...LOL. Glad to hear that Mya is doing good, and Kobe had a little bit of oozing as well but nothing else in his behavior has changed! |
Kasha is like the energizer bunny! She's bouncing around and trying to jump up on things... I've said "leave it" and "KASHAAAA NOOO!" about a billion times in the past week. It's hard to keep her down but I've resolved to no jumping. Thank god for potty pads so we don't have to worry about the outdoors & those distractions. She wasn't mad at the BF or I ... really just wanted to be with us and snuggle. Glad to hear that Mya and Kobe are also doing well. Seems like these guys just bounce right back. I haven't seen any oozing as of yet (she has glue) but we do have some bloody crust at either end of her incision which I'm keeping an eye on. Idk how long you guys were told to keep up pain meds, but I was given 14 days worth.... & I'm pretty sure this pup needs no help feeling better. I'm going to stop after tomorrow. Hows everyone eating? Kasha seems a little less hungry than usual (she's a typical yorkie picky eater at best) so I just wonder if its normal. |
Mya is impossible to keep quiet... I've officially given up. It's a week tomorrow, so close enough, lol. I still take her outside on the leash to limit running out there, and try to keep her from jumping on and off furniture, but I am letting her and Ollie run and play. She too has some dried blood on her incision. Perhaps that is normal?? Been a bit concerned so glad to hear she's not alone. She is eating just fine and has been since the day after surgery, but she is definitely not a picky eater.. she loves her food (kinda like her momma, lol). She was only given 5 days of pain meds, she finished those up last night. I don't think she needed the last 2 doses. She really seems to be 100% fine at this point. She'll be glad to get rid of the onesies, but I think we may have at least another week of those... just for my peace of mind, lol. |
Now that I think about the not eating her food ... it might be because I've been giving her dehydrated chicken strips to keep her quiet. She just knows I'm a sucker for her and I'll feed her tastier things. Glad to hear that they both have the dried blood. I think I won't even be able to see the scar once it finishes healing... thank god because I LOVE puppy belly. Kasha has taken to making in her onesie when I leave her alone to go to work. I am going to be VERY glad to give her a bath mid-week and then be rid of the onesie. She really isn't licking at it (I don't think it bugs her) but my BFs sister's toy poodle started scratching at her incision once it was healing so I just want to be sure. Plus, she looks pretty cute in hers. |
lol Kasha's a smart one and knows she has mom wrapped around her little paw... hehe. Mya's incision looks a TON better today.. the blood is almost all gone and you can now see that it's definitely closing up. Both dogs are happy they can wrestle again, they are making up for lost time, lol. Outside will be a different story, we have a heavily tree'ed/wooded backyard so she can't go out there alone until I know nothing will get caught on the incision and rip it open. Every now and again she has accidents in her onesie too.. I knew that would happen as she's not 100% potty trained. Ugh, I can't wait for bath day either.. one more week for me! |
I'm so glad to hear that Mya and Kasha are doing good as well. Kobe's incision is closing up good and I CANT WAIT to get the stitches out. He didn't tolerate the onesie very well so he's been in baby shorts with the back cut out, in the last couple days he's figured out how to get it off but he isn't bothing it all from what I can see and I'm watching him like a hawk!!! It also seems like he doesn't remember where to potty, he still poops on the pad but when he has on shorts/onesie he just goes where ever. Its driving me nuts but I told him its alright for now but when the stitches come out its back to the peepad. Oh and Kobe was not given any pain meds, the vet tech said it will help him remember that he needs to take it easy ?!?!?!?! But he seemed like he didnt really need them after the first day. |
I'm glad to hear all the little ones are doing well. I was never able to keep mine quiet after their spays. They are wild and crazy for sure. Glad the surgeries are now behind you! |
