Staying close to home this weekend to keep a eye on maddie--shes super sore--sleeping alot---she will eat, but not drink water as of yesterday--she will lick ice though--her tummy is bruising, she doesnt want to walk much either :( Hope everyone has a safe weekend |
I hope the pain meds help Maddie and she eats a little too. Poor pup. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. I think the "cover up" is the worst part of this! Feel Better Maddie! |
I am so sorry this happened. I don't blame you for being so upset. Isn't there someone you can report this to? You definitely shouldn't be charged for this. I would lose my trust in any vet that did this but someone in the office could have written the wrong orders and the vet was clueless. |

I guess this is why my vet's office has me sign something when I bring Bonnie in. Tells exactly what procedures she is having done, as well as to what efforts I want taken if something should go wrong. |

i just took her out for a little walk to try and get her moving alittle--she did real well even tried to chase the cat again:rolleyes: (she hates those kitties) lol. but at least she hasnt lost her drive. Over all doing ok. Took more pics of her tummy with the bruising to keep for evidence. not horribly badley--but alot more than yesterday, around the wound about 1 inch around it or so. she tries to scratch at her tummy, and bite at her stitches on her tail and stomach incision--but she sits with me on the couch, so i can keep a eye on her. And her kiss cone from Bo has been a super blessing! |
So glad to hear your both doing a little better. Lots of hugs and kisses can make a world of difference. |
Maddies done a 180 tonight:D shes playing and running around tonight, and finally getting off the couch. shes still sore, but acting so much better--shes even torturing DH tonight ( her evening game of buggin him to play while hes watching tv) IM SO GLAD TO SEE A IMPROVEMENT:D |

Just seeing this now, and want to send Maddie wishes for a speedy recovery. Wow, what a horrible ordeal this has been on both of you. Too bad the vet doesn't use the procedure for check in that my vet does. I have to fill out several pages of paperwork to check my dogs in, stating the procedure/surgery all risks and possible complications, check optional procedures to be considered at the same time (like microchip, shots, labs), an estimate of the costs.... all which I have to approve and sign for BEFORE they take them in, and they give me a copy. |
yea she should, the only paper i signed was for when they put her under, and the risk of it. |

I wonder if the reason she waited so long to contact you was because she had contacted a lawyer first and needed to check out her options...? Either way, WHAT an ordeal you and your baby had to endure! Remember to document every little thing, even if it seems insignificant! Hugs |

How terrible an ordeal for little Maddie but I'm so glad she is feeling better. I changed vets after about 15 years when he told me that my 8 1/2 year old baby was "not longed for this world". She did have multiple medical problems but she did live another 2 years after that. I had to find a vet that wanted to treat my sick senior babies so I know exactly how you feel when you've lost trust in the person that you so depend on to take care of your precious babies. Give little Maddie a kiss from me and mine. |
