I'm appalled this happened but extremely glad that Maddie is okay. Putting her down twice is extremely dangerous! I can't come to terms with the fact that they put her under twice in such a short amount of time! No vet does this. I would be just as upset. I would just show up first thing in the morning and have some serious words with the vet in person. Next time another pet by not be so lucky. Especially for someone's LACK OF SLEEP!!! Hope Maddie recovers well. |

I am so sorry that Maddie had to go through all of this. I am at a loss for words. I too would be absolutely livid :mad: and would be looking for a call from the vet!!! Once again, I'm so sorry your little furbaby had to endure all of this. I will pray for her speedy recovery and will keep you in my prayers as well. Please take care and keep us posted. |

I am so sorry Maddie had to go thru all this. How awful. And then to lose the trust of your own vet. It was very risky putting your baby under anesthesia for a second time. Personally, i would drive to the vets and grab the records, you are entitled to them. Secondly, id contact a lawyer. I understand that mistakes are made everyday, but to not own up to them is like saying that they dont even care what happened. Please keep us updated on Maddie's health. |
What kind of vet is that? Excuses on her side, hiding and sending over her assistant and not having the decency to call you. She should have come with her assistant and explain. We are humans and mistakes can be made, however incredible it is, but then have the guts and take up the responsibility. Is she still afraid you might be "a little hot"? I would be white-hot. Am glad your baby is doing better though. |
I am glad Maddie is doing well. It is unimaginable that these kind of things continue to happen. Lose of sleep or whatever excuse doesn't cut it. Misdiagnosis and botched surgeries aren't readily known by us. I speak from having a litter of GSD pups that would have survived if it weren't for the vet giving too much anaethesia...oh she had to go to attend a horse show and left the techs there holding the bag. It is still so heartbreaking to go back and think of that day. I had them for my vet for years....afterward there was a lawsuit from others and her practice is now closed down. I have a new vet but am still wary because of this experience. Bentley needs his teeth cleaned and I am just frightened of anything going wrong. I hope your vet has the fortitude and decency to call you and apologize at the very least. Give your little girl a hug from me and I pray she continues to get better. Dyan |

I tell you what if that was me, I would be suing that vet for what they did to your baby......how stupid are ppl.... you said she had been spayed.... and i would also make sure one way or another that he would be paying for any problems that will occur from his screw up...medical or otherwise.... |

i called kellys cell this morning and left a mess stating i needed antibiotics ( wasnt given any) and some pain meds for maddie (since she still pretty sore) kelly called back alittle while later and said no problem ill run those over to your place of work in awhile. then she said OHH by the way I (meaning Kelly) left a note on the board to remind tammy to call you today-----what??? she needs reminded???? so we will see. I dont feel like i should call to talk to tammy, they know how mad i am---i want her to call me!!! Its her responsibility! If i dont here from her by the end of the day.......................:mad: |
It must be infuriating to get the run around from her. Avoiding the situation isn't going to make it go away for the vet. She needs to talk to you, the sooner the better. The more she waits, the madder you'll get (I would!) and the harder the conversation is going to be. Take note of any and all contact with the vets office you have, just in case this gets ugly. |

Oh.My.Gosh. :( I am so sorry Maddie and you are going through this! I can't imagine how upset you must be. I'm so glad you posted about it and are able to get some of it out....bc I think I'd almost explode :mad:. |
I'm so sorry this has happened to you and poor little Maddie. That vet is unprofessional and uncaring. I'd be calling the Vet. board, my lawyer and my senator & every body else I could think of. She went to a baseball game and was tired-tough. That's no excuse. If things like this happen in human hospitals the press and the state is all over them. I would even call this animal abuse. I hope Maddie is feeling better and recovers quickly. |
WOW! Poor Maddie :mad: Misty, I'm with everyone here. if it were me I'd get some advice from a lawyer & make sure the vet KNOWS this is just unexcuseable. How awful that after so long you can no longer trust the people you went to for the "professional" care of your kiddos. ok - now this is worse- they sent her home with NO MEDICATION ? Are they nuts there ? They did all this to a little tiny dog and didn't even bother with a prescription ? I can totally feel your pain how is she feeling now ? Bless her heart - I really hope she's feeling better today but still - she needs antibiotics I would think - I can't believe this vet made such a big mistake and never even bothered to pick up the phone to talk to you - these vets are NOT that busy they can't make a simple phone call - no one is |
nope no meds----ive been giving her what i had from the last time she needed some, but im still waiting for the other stuff to get here. should be within the next hour i would think--(better be) |
