Naming help I am a new mom to a pair of Yorkies. They are a boy and a girl. I really want to name them well but I am completely drawing a blank. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. They both have awesome happy and playful temperments. I do not have them yet but I would like to let the breeder know their names so that she can use them and I would like to use them when I pick them up in 2 weeks. Thank you all for your help. |

Thank you all for these ideas. I saw several that I will definitely consider. I will also check out those 2 links. When I named my 3 children I looked at what their name meant. I may do the same for these 2. They are not brother and sister but are 3 weeks apart in age. She held the boy until the girl is ready to go. She is in Georgia so she helped me by letting me make one trip to gather both at once. I am so excited and counting down the days. :D By the way, I know I have read to watch the protein content on the puppy food. Does anyone has some good suggestions for puppy food. I have a Petce and Petsmart near me. Thank you all for your help. |

Thank you all so much. The list is awesome and the links were great. So far I like My Precious Gem for her and then I would call her Gem. I have no idea for him since I could not come up with something that went with it. I get them on the 17th but I have been told that she loves to play and then will come to rest in your lap for affection and attention. He loves to play. He brings you toys and carries them around too. Both have very sweet and loving personalities. I am so excited to get them and start their training and socialization with me. |

i didnt name penny til i had her a day or so,it was going to be chutney but after watching her it just came out as she is as bright as a penny,hope you have so much fun with them |
Since you are thinking of calling her My Precious Gem and calling her Gem for short, I did a search on yahoo and found this: Gemstones are classified into different groups, species, and varieties. For example, ruby is the red variety of the species corundum, while any other color of corundum is considered sapphire. Emerald (green), aquamarine (blue), bixbite (red), goshenite (colorless), heliodor (yellow), and morganite (pink) are all varieties of the mineral species beryl. I like Bixbite and you can call him Bixy for short. Or Lapis (which is a blue colored gemstone) Those sound a bit more masculine. Most gem names sound feminine (pearl, sapphire, ruby). Good luck! |

Boy My Sapphire Skye call him Skye Girl My Emerald Star call her Star Does that sound stupid? I mean they do match - there are stars in the sky. :rolleyes: |
