Just wanted to let everyone know that Miko is now an Okie and living in Tulsa with my Aunt and Uncle. This is exactly what I wanted for him, my uncle is in early stages of Alzheimers and just loves dogs. I had Jazzy and Baxter with me when we visited Memorial Day weekend and he just smiled and wanted them in his lap the entire time. It took my Aunt a week or so to decide that she was ready. It has been 30 years since they had a dog. Well, my cousin came over the weekend to to get him and take her back to her mom. He finally arrived to her last night about 7:30. I called at 8:30 and she said that Larry (my uncle) was a bit nervous by him in the house but that he is that way with all new things so he would be fine. She said that she let Miko out in the yard and he checked out all the flowers, went potty and came right back to her when he was done. She said he was going thru each bedroom checking out the house. :) Well, she called back at 10:00 and she was just going on and on about how perfect he was. She found out that all she has to say is "lets take a bath" and he would glady jump in the tub. hehe She also said that Larry had been saying, come here baby, come sit with me and Miko would go hang out next to him. She said he had a smile on his face and just kept calling him baby and honey. She is taking him today to the vet and getting him tags with her number etc. She was so excited and couldnt stop thanking me. Very excited, now I will get to see him when we visit Tulsa. :)

Thanks sweetie. :) It just kills me to know that little perfect baby would have been hauled to the garland KILL shelter if I had not gotten him. Who knows if he would even still be here. I dont get some people!

Me neither! Why everything tied to money. Too many dog breeders and look who is suffering. There is not enough people in the world like you who would take the time and help. :(

That is so great of you to do and he really has an exceptional little face in that photo - he DOES look like a little lover and all the best to you finding that 'right' place for him - why wouldn't she try to find someone to take him before making a statement or decision to drop him off at the pound - I see she's young but still.....can't understand that at all and thankfully for HIM you are now the hero

She is young, following a dream to be famous! To her, giving herself a WEEK to find him a home was good enough. She had the nerve to tell me that she would make the decision where he was going. I said, No, you are giving up your rights to him. Didn't want to be rude, but I was taking him on to live with me for who knows how long. If she really cared about him he wouldn't have been in this position in the first place.

What a wonderful person you are!!! Such a great story to start my week out with, Thank You for being there when no one else was for Miko! I'm so happy everything worked out so wonderfully for him and your relatives :D He is so handsome!!! ((((Hugs))) to you for being there for him. I can't believe the nerve of that girl trying to tell you where she will allow him to go and after she was going to take him to a shelter. What nerve! Good for you for setting her straight!

This is such a blessing that Miko found a great home and your aunt and uncle have a wonderful companion. t was wonderful of you to take him and find him a home.

Miko looks like such a lover! How could anyone leave that little face? Im so glad youve taken him in. You will find the perfect home for him...I just know it!

He's toooo cute. YOu'll find a home for him I'm sure. My sister just adopted a mixed breed female and is in love with her. She has had dalmations for years and they have so many "issues" that mixed breeds don't seem to have. She is a really happy mom with her new Daisy. Good luck.

Another Update
 

Just wanted to update everyone on Miko. He is spoiled rotten by my Aunt and Uncle. He doesnt eat dog food :rolleyes: my Aunt gives him eggs and turkey for breakfast and then fresh veggies and all kinds of goodies. She has also taught him "go to your quilt", which is on the end of her bed. lol He knows to go there when he is told and he will go to sleep (he is not allowed on her side of the bed. hahaha

Anyway, I have rescued more since then, but it warms my heart to know that this one became a special little guy in my family.

You're an angel for taking him in. Hope you find another home for him soon, but how nice for him he has such a great home to stay in while you look. What a shame it would have been to send him to the pound!

Actually, he is in his home. :D My aunt and uncle are keeping him. My uncle has alzheimers and has really declined this year, having the dog has been wonderful for him. THey were un sure because it had been 30 years since they had a dog. But, my aunt says now that she cant imagine life without him. He is such a good dog. He has never had an accident and he listens so well. So glad that I took him in because he has become another child to my aunt and uncle. :)

I am just seeing this is an old thread. I'm so glad he's got a great home. If not for you, who knows what would have happened to him?

I have a Schnoodle named Wriggley and his hair is a lot more curly like a poodle. He is solid White and the only thing that he has that takes after the Schnoodle is he is bigger than a toy poodle. but he is very smart !!! and yours is just adorable. !!!1

I'm so glad your aunt and uncle took the dog. I was ready to take him myself even if I had to drive to Texas to get him. You are a wonderful person to rescue animals. I would love to do that also but I don't think I would be strong enough to give them away and then I would be in real trouble.

He's so good looking! I have a girl that looks similar to him so I think he is a yorkie mix.

I am so glad you found a home for him where you can keep us all updated, he is lucky that you took the time to help him. It breaks my heart to think of the ones that were not so lucky.
