Calling others "nasty" is nasty, don't people understand that? It's not calm, it's not kind, and it's not civil.

I'm not making fun of it at all. I did a search on Chanukah bush after you wrote about it, and I saw things from a different perspective. I must admit that Sarah Silverman - "Give The Jew Girl Toys" video brought tears to my eyes, and I guess that helped open them.

I'm just playing. I'll have to find that video!

Wow -- reading all of your posts in just this one thread. Usually people are a member here for more than 10 days before they get quite so judgemental about the forum and all its members. Maybe such judgemental tones are really not the "kind and civil" manners you are requesting from others? Maybe taking just a snapshot in time from the forum is not giving the membership a fair evaluation? Remember the posts about ignoring things that really bother you? Maybe you will put me on ignore for saying this but I am trying to think of how you could look at this differently and not seem so personally offended and upset. Try to look past the small stuff and see the bigger picture. For every negative there are a hundred positives!! That is often true of the individual as well as the site in total. Concentrate on those positives and you may come to love this place and its members as much as most of us do. :)

BTW -- I think I had confused new members and you are not looking for a puppy now -- sorry about the confusion. I have often mistaken one member for another or thought a member reminded me of someone else. Sometimes I have even found they are another person! But I am usually late to pick up on those kinds of things. I even call my sons by each other's names -- so confusion is not always limited to the forum. :confused:

If you google pics of Chanukah bushes, there is one that is really pretty -- a white painted branch thingy with ornaments. How could you not want one? :p When my father was too lazy to put up a Christmas tree, he would throw lights on the huge ficus tree and call it his Chanukah bush. :rolleyes:

It's definitely easier for someone to pull one down to their level than for you to lift them up to yours.

Which is why nastiness begets more nastiness easier than kindness begets more kindness.

This thread is a perfect example. The angry people have sucked others in to thier mood, but the Cheerfull people are struggling just to remain cheerful.

As for me I keep falling off the fence and climbing back up on it.

Tis the season to be jolly. :D

Many of them only last an hour or two before they can't take it.

I'm glad you can smile at my irreverent father. I'm stuck with him. :D He is a good guy and it is his way of embracing all that is good in the world.

From reading your post I think your one of the angry people your complaining about. Why keep it going.
