Pixie is home from her LP surgery!!

I picked up Pixie from the vets and she looks pretty sad. She had a plastic e collar on and looked so miserable. Thank God I had gotten a soft e collar from Mom to Hot Rod when I was fostering the pom pup. Happily it fits Pixie too. She looked so much happier with the soft collar on. I highly recommend that everyone get one to have on hand. They are so much better for our babies. Thanks so much Mom to Hot Rod for coming up with these great collars.
Pixie is resting pretty good but panting a lot. Not sure why. If it is from pain or what. I may call the vet to see is this is normal, if she doesn't stop soon. SHe has had her pain meds at 9 am.
Thanks for all your concern and prayers. Now we just have to get her through the recovery period.

Aww poor thing... I hope she starts feeling better soon! It's great to see she did well with her surgery.

Aww, her incision looks good. She's such a sweetie.

Is that her laying by herself on the pillow? Please be very careful doing that, Patti. If she were to move suddenly before you could grab her, it wouldn't take much for her to twist that little leg.

Ahhhhh...little sweetheart. I feel so bad for her and for you too. I will keep praying for her recovery and that it goes smoothly. Hugs to you, Patti. You sounded so sad when we talked this morn. I think you're still in shock over all that has happened. After all Pixie has been through, she still looks darling in her pictures!

Oh my goodness, what a sweetie! Girl her lots of extra loving and we will continue to keep her in our prayers for a speedy recovery.

I love the pic of the ours looking in on her. It is adorable. Glad to hear Pixie is home. Hoping for a speedy recovery. My Pixie send her love.:love:and Yorkie kisses.

Praying for quick healing for Pixie, thanks Mom to Hot Rod for coming up with those soft collars, in helping ease the discomfort for those that need one.

Pixie you sure are a darlin, hope your feeling better real soon.

If we lived close to you Patti, we'd help so you could get your much needed rest too. You have been through so much lately please take care of yourself.

I'm so glad Pixie's surgery was a success. I'm hoping for a speedy recovery for everyone's sake. Get well soon little Pixie!

BonBon-Thanks for the reminder. My husband was on one side of her and I was kneeling right next to her just to get the picture. I know at any moment she will surprise me and move. Right now all she is doing is laying in her crate.
SHe only had her left leg done. Hopefully we will not have to do the right one. I was really surprised that they kept all her long hair and only shaved the leg.

if opium based pain pills like torbutrol or tramadol they will pant and breath heavier so this could be just from the pain meds

happy she made it through great :) and hoping for a speedy recovery

Thanks, she is on Tramdol. I feel a lot better now knowing this.

yeah they probably gave her an injection too and that is probably what is doing it as those are much stronger as doubt tramadol is doing it - usually it is butorphanol as demi had this when she had so many extractions of teeth and she was doing the same thing and i called asking about it and dentist said it is normal for opium drugs to cause this but just to be safe give your surgeon a call :)
