I can't believe some people! My little sister’s friend has two dogs. One has really bad diabetes and very old. The other one is just old with no health problems (from what I was told). The friend told my sister that they're going to put down the dog with diabetes due to health issue. Not sure how sick the dog really is?? But the part that makes me REALLY mad is they're going to put down the healthy dog too!! They said the dog would be sad with out its brother. What kind of crap is that!! I don’t know these people personally, but that sounds crazy. |
Oh my gosh! That is horrible! Put a dog down so it wont be sad???? Sounds like they just want rid of them to me. |
I don't know what to think. :( |
That is beyond comprehension. How in the world could you put down a healthy dog, just because they may be sad. It would be hard enough for me to make that decision when the time comes that it is best, but I really can't understand how you could choose to lose both of your babies at the same time. How sad. |

Not sure if its my place to say anything... |
Putting down an elderly sick dog is okay with me, "IF" the dog truly has a poor quality of life, and is suffering. Putting down a healthy dog no matter what it's age is no way ok. Sadness is "NOT" a reason to put down a dog. Three weeks ago we lost our elderly dog ( he died in his sleep ) my little Pistol did have some issues at first. Since then he has improved and is back to normal. Sounds to me like they just want rid of both dogs. Sad, sad situation. |
I donno if I would ever put one down because if it but they do get very sad. When I was growing up we had a lab mix who was a wonderful dog and after having her many years we got a beagle mix puppy and it was like the lab mix was his mom she cleaned his ears, taught him things and was really like his mom, well years later a disk in her back went bad and she could not feel her back legs and she had to be put down and it was terrible not just for me and my parents (it was our first dog and she was amazing) the beagle mix was sooooo sad lost weight, would not eat, and his hole personality changed. Had we not had another beagle mix puppy that we got a year before the lab mix died I think he would have just died himself. Now of course the two beagle mix's are inseparable now and someone actually has to stay with one of them if the other has to go to the vet because they are so attached. I imagine when they are very old and have the separation problem when one dies it doesn't take long for the not eating and stuff to cause there health to go down hill fast due to there age and instead of mourning two losses one right after the other they are trying to just do it at once or might not think they will be able to watch the one who is healthy deteriorate after his buddy is gone. I dont know the situation so but they do get very sad and it effects them a lot when there companion dies and its a hard thing to watch. |
i think that's horrible!! can you get your sister to say something to her? if she wouldn't, then i would for sure.... |

Sounds to me that they just don't want to have ANY dogs any more!! :( I think the dog will definitely be very sad without it's "brother" but with love and attention it will live out the rest of its days happily. |
Would a vet even put down a healthy dog for no reason??? Gee, i hope not...that sounds cruel. I understand dogs get sad after their partner dies...but so do humans. We just learn to move on...and i'm sure the healthy dog would do the same. That is just so odd to me! |
I hate people sometimes |

Can someone just want in with their dog and tell the vet put him/her to sleep?? |
 Oh the thoughts flooding my mind, most would be inappropriate to share...I am having some not so pleasant thoughts about these people. What a waste of space these people are....seriously. Those poor dogs. Why not just surrender them to a rescue? |
That is just horrible  How can they have pets for so long and just put them down so easily!? The vet here will put down an animal with no health problems, young or old. It's very sad :( |
