Pixie is in surgery...please pray Patti just called me to let me know about the visit with the surgeon this morn. Pixie's leg is so bad and definitely needed surgery, so Patti left Pixie there to have her done today. If she didn't get the surgery, Pixie would be in pain and most likely tear her ACL and then it would be harder to fix. The knee could be popped in, but there were no grooves to hold it in. While we were talking on the phone, Pixie's surgeon called to say she is already under and they will be doing the surgery now. Patti is not at home, so I told her I would post. Please pray for sweet little Pixie! Thank you! |

Thanks everyone. And to Connie for always being my rock. I haven't heard back yet, but she did say the procedure itself was about 45 minutes so I am hoping to hear soon. I just hope and pray I made the right decision. I am also scared about the 6 weeks aftercare. I know with your prayers and thoughts we can get through this. Thanks to LadyJane for her input on LP. |
Poor Patti and Pixie. I hope everything goes well, and hope she has a speedy recovery. |

Prayers for a quick recovery for little Pixie. |
I talked with Patti and she got the call from the surgeon saying that Pixie came through her surgery and was beginning to wake up. Whew! Patti was getting so nervous, thinking they should have called earlier. PTL that all is well and they have that hurdle behind them. Patti's very nervous about the recovery period, so anyone with pointers, she'll certainly appreciate them. She is not home right now, thus the reason for my posting for her. She'll be updating with any news. Thanks everyone for your prayers and concerns! |
I have not advise, but hope for a fast recovery!! |

To Patti and Pixie lots of love, prayers and get well soon. From Pixie and Betty. :hearts6::hands::getwellso |
Please keep us informed. Prayers for Pixie for speedy recovery and for strength and wisdom for Patti especially during the recovery period. |
Thanks so much everyone!! When the vet called she said Pixie has her groove back! They re grooved her kneecap, she said it was completely gone. They also cut the bone, I can't remember whether she said the crest or the cusp? and moved it over and put in one pin. She then put one stitch on the inside of her leg I think she said to hold the ligament in place. My poor Pixie. I was so relieved to hear she was in recovery, I missed some of what she said. I can't pick her up until tomorrow, her first time ever away from home. I will be starting a post to get tips on how to keep them quiet after. I know the surgeon will give me detailed instructions but it helps to hear from others who have been through it. I almost fainted when I saw the estimate too. Thank God for Care credit. Thanks again and a special thanks to my dear friend Connie for posting and taking all my calls. |
