| I can understand that you love Molly and hope things work out as it should, only God knows what will happen and he always knows the best. Thinking of you.

| Such a tough situation.... Finding a Yorkie and taking such good care of her, then finding the owner. Bless you for all the care. I know if that happened to Piccolo and myself, you would be my best friend for life. ![]() Also, this is getting a little off topic, but did want to add that if you are in the Cincinnati area, we do have a Yorkie Meet Up group and we would love for you join. Could be part of the one door shut, one door open that another member mentioned....

| It sounds to me like this most likely is this lady's dog and Nasdaq seems fairly confident in that as well. I trust her assessment of the situation. The suggestions being given--identifying marks, requiring proof via pictures, only giving her back if the dog acts excited, etc--seem a bit much, maybe? Like false hope? (I dunno...hard to put into words.)I know it must be a terribly hard thing to do to give up a dog when you've already gotten attached to it, spent money on vet bills, named it, bought it clothes, etc etc. But this was a lost dog from the very start only 2 weeks ago and it's important not to forget that. I understand 'hoping' that the owner would let you keep her, even pay for her, but that's not likely to happen. How many members here would do that with one of theirs that had been lost just because the person who found them got attached? Regardless, I think that "Little Mommy/Molly" was lucky to have been found by someone who gave her such loving care until her owner was found. Last edited by BamaFan121s; 06-09-2010 at 05:49 AM. |

| She already said the lady even described the dress the dog was wearing. I'm sure she has the right owner. |

| Mornin' All... UPDATE: So, they came by to get her 30min ago. I put the leash down to see if Molly would run to the woman and she didn't. She continued to keep walking (slowly) next to me. The woman was like, "omg she doesn't remember me" and proceeds to pick her up and play with her. Molly still seemed uncomfortable. The woman put Molly down and the ladies husband got out the car. He was very energetic and Molly approached him with a little more familiarity. They said that Molly is a lap dog, and likes to sit in the womans lap for 7-8hr at a time..I couldn't tell, hell Molly didn't even want to approach the woman. Anyway, like I said they put a deposit down on a new puppy. She has no idea if they'll get the money back. I asked if they will buy the dog. She said no, they'd just take it as a loss. I told her I may be willing to buy Molly for $300-$400. She sounded interested but said they won't be speaking to the breeder again for another 2 weeks because the puppy isn't ready yet anyway. I stressed to them again how I found her..and how she really needs that microchip. They have 1 other dog and assured me they'd be getting one now for each. One thing that made me mad was when she called, I asked if she had a crate and stuff. She said, "yes we have all of that" well..she lied. She had Molly right in her arms as they drove off... Well, that's the story of Molly and Me! eta: Did I do the right thing? Molly can be friendly with people..did I give her to the wrong folks? Yeah, she described the dress great but Molly didn't show them the same kind of excitement she shows me..or hell even my little brother (and he's only been visiting me for 5 days now) I feel like a chump.. |

| I don't even know what to say....morally I would say that you did the right thing. But, I do find it troubling that Molly wasn't more grateful to see them. I know I can't even leave the room without my two crying for me. I guess you just have to wait and see. Maybe she will call you and let you buy Molly. I hope it works out for you...I know you really love her. Again, just know that if you didn't find her and look after her she probably wouldn't be here...hopefully that in itself will be comforting.

| If you know without a doubt that they are the rightful owners of Molly/Little Mommy, then yes, you did the right thing, regardless to if you liked what you saw or not in regards to how the dog or people interacted with one another. |

| Sorry you had to say goodbye ![]() But you certainly did the right thing... from the info. provided it appears only the rightful owner could have known the information they provided... if the dog did not seem happy to see them it could be that the dog is not treated well, or something else entirely, it would really only be speculation and you cant keep someone else's pet on speculation alone. I will say again though, that good things will come to you for taking in and caring for this dog as your own for the last few weeks... when you have a new baby that is all yours, I cant wait to hear about him/her!

| Sorry for your pain Miss Diva. This same thing happened to me when i found a tiny kitty on the highway...crouched against the median wall. I ran across 4 lanes of the expressway to retrieve her!! She was so cute and sweet! This was many years ago and we did not have the resources like the internet...if you lost a pet back then you put an ad in the newspaper. About 3 weeks later we finally found the owner, she came right away and picked her up. That lady was so happy to get her cat back! I was sad as i really wanted to keep that kitty! (and i normally don't care much for cats...but this one was special!) I know it is hard but Molly is their dog so you must give her up. I don't think it is reasonable to ask if you can visit her, Would you want some stranger visiting you and your pet? That would be weird! It is just my opinion, but i think you should start looking for your very own yorkie to love! I missed if you got a reward or not, but if you did i would use that to start your own yorkie baby fund. That way Molly would kinda always be with you in some way! And if Molly was meant to be yours she will be! Keep your chin up! You did the right thing. BYTW, the cat jumped out of the car window onto the highway on the way to the vets office!
