Such a great post Bonny!! I just wanted to add maybe since you won't take the reward and they have already put a deposit down on the other puppy you should go look at her and they can pay the deposit for that baby and maybe that baby is meant to be yours? Just an idea?? Regardless you will be blessed for such a major random act of kindness! Actions like yours never go unrewarded!! And I'm sure you have friends for life since you have reunited them with their baby! I know it's a sad day to have to give her back but my prayer is that you will be blessed the way you have so obviously blessed these people!!

But, I'm thrilled for 'Molly' if she gets reunitied with her family. They must've been heartbroken to lose her. I would be disturbed by how she was lost, too, but accidents happen to all of us.

As far as them already putting a deposit down on another pup - I totally understand that. When my Becca passed unexpectedly 2 years ago I was devestated without her. I brought Chelsea home by week's end and I've never regretted it....she brought laughter & joy back into my house when it was needed most.

Thank you so much for taking care of this little girl. Even if you don't accept their monetary reward, you will be blessed for your actions!

Me too.. I dunno, I just feel some sort of way about this woman. Kinda like these threads I read about breeders asking proper questions so that their dogs don't just do to any ol' type of home..I feel like no questions were asked of this woman.

She never asked me how she was doing..how I'd been caring for her, etc. I volunteered all that info once I figured she just wasn't going to ask me.

I'm thinking about asking her if I can give her money to keep Molly...would that be rude? I dont' really know the etiquette??

You can ask but shes most likely gonna say no unless she is so wrapped up in getting her new yorkie that Molly doesnt really matter to her anymore. It cant hurt to ask

Thanks Mary..I was considering the same idea actually. I'd first like to know who the person who is selling the puppies ( I don't even know what type of breed she put a deposit on) because I wouldn't want to just buy from anyone..especially not a puppy mill.

Can't hurt to ask...hate that these people don't seem to care. My brother and his wife found a young yellow lab that they fell in love with, put signs up, took him to be groomed, took him to the vet, bought him a collar, were smitten. They kept looking for the owners and finally found them (unfortunately.) they didn't care that he was lost, was living in a dirty kennel out back and they offered one of his pups (he was less than a year old and so was the female) at a "discounted rate" as the reward and didn't even say thank you. They said no, left and were angry and devastated to have to give him back to people that didn't care about him when he was properly loved and cared for with them! My mom was so angry that she said if she ever saw this baby wandering again he wouldn't ever go back! Unfortunately some fur babies aren't loved the way they should be...understatement I know. I would ask to pay to keep her. The worst they can say is no. :-)

I don't think it would be rude. I'm not sure there is an accepted etiquette in this situation. If I were you, I would have to at least ask. Maybe she'll surprise you.

You seem to make a great yorkie mom and the rescues somtimes have little beauties members here help deliver on the yorkie train at times

I'm so glad you found her owner. As for her reaction, you need to give her a chance, she may be waiting to make sure it is her little girl. You can't judge her as you don't know what is going on in her life. I'm sure she loves this baby, only someone who loves their baby would dress her. I hope you get your own Yorkie someday.

Thanks! I'm going to think of how to gently ask this. I'd really hate to offend. Even if she does say no..I'd still like to see Molly again..that may not happen though.

If one of my babies is ever lost (God forbid), I could only hope someone like you would find and care for them until I could get there. I'd be willing to give you regular visitation for life for all you've done! :)

It is her dog. I found her in a dress..the woman described the dress to a tee. How could she be unsure it's not her dog.

Not trying to judge. Dressing a dog doesn't necessarily equate love. Hell, if they loved her she wouldn't have been sitting on the roof of a car and forgotten about. But, I digress..I'm meeting with her tomorrow.

Maybe I was wrong when i said, that they must be happy about getting her back, because I would have been on your front door steps the second I could be there. Right after Isabel went missing I received several calls from people finding yorkies and the second they contacted me i went to check it out. I left work several times in order to do it.

It wouldn't hurt to offer her money to keep her; she can only say no. i wouldn't worry about it being rude.

Personally, I hope you get to keep Molly. The original owner doesn't seem so "grateful". Money motivates so maybe Molly will be able to stay with you. Regardless, thanks for taking care of Molly...even though the owner didn't say it..Molly is grateful to you!

I know what you mean.....I'd be out that door so fast I'd probably forget to put my pants on.......
