| Going from 2 dogs to 1 :( We had to get rid of our chihuahua due to him being a little aggressive with the kids. However, we have a 21 week old yorkie who is an angel. I was wondering, what can we do to make this transition easier for her? She's been fine today, but I'm just worried she might get lonely. We are here with her almost all the time, so we are trying to keep her occupied? Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance |

| Sorry, I only have 1 fur baby. I often wondered what Kimbo would do if we had another. He and I are joined at the hip. I am his sole form of entertainment. Hope your baby adjusts well. You sound like a great mom.

| Thanks! My baby and I are too! She loves her mommy. I'm sure she'll be okay, i've just heard of some dogs going into a deep depression! Hoping she doesn't! |

| Jackson has always been MY only dog but with me still living at home, my mom had a cockapoo dog that lived with us too, so Jackson never lived as an only dog... well she passed away from an accident at 4yrs old. I will say, Jackson was totally depressed for a good 2 weeks. He just seemed sooo bored and he would lay around more. After a few weeks though, he seemed to just forget and ended up becoming normal for him to be the only dog, we just began making more frequent trips to the dog park and to my dads house with his 2 dogs and would sleep over there and he was happy. Now, I sometimes like it being just him... after a few days at my dads house, it's just so much crazier with 3 dogs. Jackson sleeps in late with me at our regular house now which he never did before when my moms dog was still alive, they would usually be up (she would sleep in my room alot) playing real early. But I do miss them being able to play... I will add a 2nd dog eventually as I know Jackson would appreciate it and love it a lot more... but one dog has it's advantages too.

| On May 30th our 14 year old miniature poodle went to the big dog park in the sky. Pistol had a rough first week as he had never been an only dog. He did not want to eat the first two days even if I tried to hand feed him, he wandered around the house looking for JoJo, and would not go outside unless you picked him up and carried him out. Now I am glad to say all those behaviors have resolved except one. Pistol will go to the door and dance to go out, when you open the door he still turns around and sits down to wait for JoJo. This is getting better though with a little encouragement he will go out on his own. He was depressed and missing his big brother, but I think he is getting over it now. I wouldn't worry about it to much unless you start to see problems. |
