OMG - how scary. I am so glad this has a happy ending!!!! We were very blessed to hear a pet first aid speaker recently who demonstrated clearly how to do pet CPR and the heimlich. Everyone should know how to do this both for humans and their pets!!!! |
I am so glad he is okay , how very scary for you! |
Ann, Just reading this makes me want to take a CPR course. Thank god everything turned out well. What a horrifying experience, I am so happy Marcel is alright. |
Oh my goodness! That must have been so upsetting an scarey. I will definitely be looking up how to do CPR and first aid for my dogs. I worry about any of the chews. I supervise them because I have read things like this. I take anything small away from my two dogs once they chew down so far. I am so happy to hear your little one is doing OK now. You saved his life. |
Just read this thread and am shaking & scared & grateful & so thankful Marcel is ok. You are so smart to know what to do.....I don't know if I would even begin to know what to do or where to start.....I have much reading to do. My heart goes out to you....!!! XOXOXOXOXOOXXO HUGS HUGS HUGS HUGS HUGS HUGS HUGS & LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE and MORE LOVE---- Snick & Viv |
Oh my gosh how horrible!!!! I can't imagine how you must have felt. :( What a horrible thing for you both to have gone through. Thank you for the reminder, but I am so sorry as to why. I am so so happy that Marcel is ok now. |
Ann, First of all, I am soooo sorry!!! this had to be terrifying for you and Marcel. Thanks to you and doing everything you knew to do, Marcel is alive. My stomach was in knots just reading this because I have been through a similar episode with one of my babies, and it brought back all that fear and panic and helplessness. I sooo understand how you were feeling and want to THANK YOU for sharing it with every one. I have pet first aid books, and all the first aid kits, but when the moment hits you, no matter how much you've read and studied and viewed info on emergency procedures, everything seems to go out the window at that MOMENT in time when the emergency strikes. Thank you for the links, you have given me the reminder I needed to take a hands on first aid course for pets. I haven't had actual pet cpr training, just what I have studied and learned from books and videos. I haven't done a cpr class for adults and infants for quite a few years either, so its time to re-fresh on that as well. This just brings it home again, that anything can happen in an instant and we need to be prepared, to help our human or furry loves BIG GENTLE little huggles for Marcel and hugs to you. So happy and thankful this had a happy ending for you guys. {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Ann and Marcel}}}}}}}}}} P.S. It is a good reminder for people about chews also. I always buy the dental chews for large dogs so they can't get small enough to fit down far in their mouth. They can chew on them for a long time before they get soft enough to pull off any piece, which is when mommy takes them away :) |
Ann, just, now seen this, so very sorry about Marcel:eek: how scary that would be, I just starting to panic just reading what happen, thank God for his mercy, that is why he is here, hugs:aimeeyork |
I'm so glad he is ok. That must have been terrifying! Sending you and your crew hugs! |
OMG! At first I misread the title and thought it said you lost Marcel. so glad that he is okay. I was in tears reading this. thank you for the warning, yes I do need to learn this as Maggie has chocked on her bullies 2 x now. She will will chew a bully down in no time flat. The piece is a good size and all of a sudden the piece is half my pinky finger! So glad that everything turned out okay. Give that baby a big hug and kiss for me. |
What a terrible nightmare you went through. I'm so glad you saved Marcel.:) |
Ya know...I almost didn't even post about this episode because I thought "why post about something so awful, it will just depress everyone?"....but now, I'm *really* glad I did because I see that some people didn't know that the Red Cross offered Pet First Aid/CPR courses, and some people didn't know how to do the Heimlich or rescue breathing....so really...this terrifying experience has had some good come of it. And thank you so much for all of the kind words and support, it has really helped take some of the panic and guilt away. We now call him our "Miracle Marcel", I'm so proud of what a strong little fighter he is, we are very lucky :). |
That is the beauty of Yorkie Talk... learning from each other's experiences and giving and receiving support when needed. :yorkietal Miracle Marcel has a Miraculous Mom! Thank God he's ok. |
That's so scary!! I'm so happy that there was a happy ending! |
