| ![]() Paris, Tennessee, that is. Hi everyone! It's been ages since we have been on the internet!!!! We've missed all the fun you've been having! But we've been having LOTS of fun, too....traveling mostly through KY, TN, and Southeast MO. Our planned itinerary through the south got changed drastically by "the girls", Katrina and Rita. Now we are at McKinney CG, a Corps of Engineers on lovely Lake Allatoona, near Atlanta, GA. We're gradually working our way to Florida for the winter. So far, we LOVE living the fulltimers' lifestyle in our fifth wheel. So many beautiful places to park in this wonderful country of ours. And Higgins has adapted well to fulltiming, too. He loves meeting all the different dogs and friendly people as we travel. He immediately attracts a crowd when he catches his frisbee or plays "soccer" with his big beach ball. Our campsite in Paris, TN, had about an acre of manicured lawn next to it that he LOVED. Running for the sheer joy of it! Sadly, this last year has been very hard for Pogo, our 14 year old Doodle (half dachshund, half poodle). Cataracts rendered him almost completely blind, he became incontinent, and then began to lose weight. When we determined that he was in pain, most probably with cancer, we made the decision to let him go to be with his beloved Herbert, my husband who died in 1995. Don and I held him and sent him off with many kisses and then many tears. On the second night when he had not reappeared, Higgins just sat down on the kitchen floor and looked at both of us and cried for about three minutes. We all bawled. Now we've adjusted a bit and Higgins is, of course, more spoiled than ever. We even have a sign we hang on our door that says "A Spoiled Rotten Yorkie Lives Here." When we reach our winter base in Florida, we'll have good internet hookups and we'll get back in here and let you know all about our travels and Higgy doings! In the meantime, hugs to you all and all your little guys! Mary Ellen & Higgins |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ![]() Hi Mary Ellen !!!! I'm so sorry about your Pogo....it sounded like he was very loved and I know you were grateful for the 14 years you had together......The crying part made me sad but I know you had to make that decision out of love and Pogo was a lucky boy to have such a great family to love him so much....but you do have my sympathy......hugs to you and little Higgens over the loss of his pal. It's so nice to see you and it sounds like you are just having the time of your life....how cool that you get to travel and see parts of the country most of us will never see - It must be lots of fun.... |

| ![]() So sorry to hear about Pogo. We had the same thing with Daisy our Peke. How awful when one has to let them go. I still miss her terribly. Don't know what I will do when it happens to Snoodles! Looks like a great time you are having! My husband and I were going to do that exact same thing, but after he had 3 ht attacks and ht surgery, and colon cancer and now throat cancer, we would need totake 3 Dr. and some nurses with us. But he is still living and we thank God for that! Keep us posted! Pat |

| ![]() Long time no chat, Mary Ellen! Pogo is enjoying his time with Herbert now, I can just picture little Higgins being so sad and bawling his little eyes out because Pogo didn't return. May Pogo rest in Doggie Heaven. It's so great hearing about Higgins' travels and your good times camping and meeting new friends. We look forward to seeing more of your family again when you have full-time Internet access. ![]() |
