| ![]() My yorkie, Bella, who is about 1 year and 4 months old just started a bad habit about a week ago. She is licking everything! Everything from the carpet, bed spreads, couch, etc. I do not know what made her start doing this! I adopted her 3 months ago and she never has done it before. She is not in heat, nor about to go in heat. We recently went to the vet (2 weeks ago) and was healthy no problems. I would have asked the vet about it when we were in, but she just started doing this within the last week going on week and a half. Any suggestions as to why she is doing this or anyways to help her stop? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you! :aimeeyork |

| ![]() Give the vet a quick call. If it's strictly behavioral, then correct her when you see her doing it. Could the items she's licking be dirty, or have an interesting smell on them?

| ![]() My husband and I are quite the obsessive cleaners, so I do not believe the things she is licking is dirty, however she might think other wise. We just had our couch cleaned professionally on May 15th and at the same time our carpets were done. I wash our bedding every week, comforter once every other month. However, maybe to her they are dirty! hehe I'll start correcting her today, and if it doesn't stop by the weekend then I will consult the vet on Monday. Thank you for the info! ![]()

| ![]() I'm the same type of obsessive cleaner. I love sleeping with clean bedding. If I could, I'd wash them everyday! My brothers say I have laundry OCD. ![]()

| ![]() My Harley loves to lick everything if he's allowed to, beds, walls, hands, floors. He drives me nuts. What I notice is if he is corrected he will stop, if he's allowed he'll continue. It's difficult because my husband doesn't seem to mind him licking certain things (floor- its tile, or his hands, he just washes them), where I don't like any of it and just gently correct him and he stops. So Harley knows and then he goes about his business.
