When ever i dress coby,lola
in clothes people always say cute dogs but
why? Are they wearing clothes,dogs dont
need. Clothes they have fur, which is true
but i think yorkies look so cute wearing clothes,
Well i am sick of people asking me this
and i wanted to know how many Yts on
here get these smart remarks about youre dogs
that wear clothes???

Jackets & vests
 
Our two girls have jackets & sweaters they wear in winter to keep them warm, & soft vest-type harnesses we use for their walks that look like little dresses. I consider these functional and almost everyone who comments on them say they are cute. I've never been in a situation where someone has asked my why or made a rude comment.

Levi wears a raincoat in the rain and a sweater/jacket/coat when it is colder - things I find necessary. Other than that, I don't often put him in clothes because he doesn't like them, especially now when it is so hot!! I know plenty of people who regularly dress their dogs in cute shirts, etc so I think it is "to each their own." I'd probably dress Levi in clothes more often if he would let me!

My little Miloh often wears shirts, primarily because he recently got a "summer cut" (very short) haircut and only weighs 2.8 lbs right now; he gets really cold easily. He actually has no problem wearing clothes, I guess he's gotten used to it. :) I have heard "smart" comments from my boyfriend's family, like "You treat that dog like a dang child when he's just a dog, why don't you just have one already?" I often laugh it off but there have been times I have to keep myself quiet. :mad: But it all depends on the individidual and of course the adorable yorkie.

Can't say that anyone has really said anything negative about them wearing clothes. Some of my neighbors say things like they want to come back as my dogs. :rolleyes:

I guess it is the same as some people thinking a stroller is strange.

People like to comment on everything, even things they don't like. If I'm not hurting anyone and I'm not hurting my dog, I don't see it as anyones business but mine if I dress my dog. On that note, Kaji doesn't wear clothes often. But that's my choice. If you want to dress your pup everyday, GO FOR IT!! Yorkies look adorable nekked or dressed. :)

My dogs wear sweaters in the winter when its super cold out, other than they hate wearing anything else. I do think some dog clothes are cute, but is a dog bikini really necessary? lol.. to each thier own and ignore the comments.. everyone always has something to say lately..

yes I hate when I feel I have to be rude cause they just don't get it...I have the new muscle shirts from target OK! they are not HOT! my pup is not hot!!! they asked my oh its so.........hot out why do you have a shirt on that dog! I said you have on a shirt don't you? they said well I don't have fur! I said he does not have fur! he has hair like the kind under your hot hat!

Hawkeye has a black muscle shirt that says "security" on it in bold white letters. It is a hit in our neighborhood! We also have his Iowa Hawkeye football jersey already purchased and ready for tailgating this fall! I am also the lady who said my dog would NEVER wear clothes......sigh........guess I was wrong! :D

Teddi almost always wears clothes but I don't think I've ever gotten a rude comment about her clothes most people love the outfits and want to meet her when they see her dressed.

Sofia wears her dresses mostly for special occasions in the summer, but in the winter she gets dressed most days, if we are leaving the house for sure, its cold out and she is little. Sometimes people give us strange looks, but most just can't get past her size. People should really learn to mind their own business and mind their words too.

Mine don't wear clothes in the summer hot days, but on winter and cool days they do, only one time I saw someone looking a my girls in a negative way, that's all, I don't really care a bit, of what they think:animal-pa but if they say something otro gallo cantaria (that will be another subject);)

I think some folks ask or say things because they just don't think or know any better. Some are just curious. My husband is anti-clothes on my monsters but I don't see why little sweaters, well at least for my girl, would hurt. She doesn't have the heavy coat like my boy. But I have also learned to live without it. I guess it is one less thing I will be in debt over. I can afford to buy myself clothes lol:p Either way I don't care I guess.
