We forgot to dock our dogs tail They are three weeks old and we totally forgot  Can we still take them to the vet?? |
There are alot of people who would love to have yorkies with full tail :D But if you prefer dock please do go to your vet. |
ooooh, yorkies with tails are adorable! Docking them now would just hurt. I vote let them keep their tails. |
A vet would not do it now without putting them under. It would be surgery. My vet won't do them after 4 days. I would just leave them. |
 yorkie's with tails are beautiful:D |
I love yorkies with tails. |
Now it would have to be done under anesthesia. Not worth it... |
I would also love a yorkie with a long tail. |
I love full tails. Jackson's got a full tail. It's too late to dock them now... |
 I vote tails...they are cuter |
 Save the tail. |
All Yorkies are GORGEOUS! Long tails or not. Save them the pain of recovery and keep their cute long hair tail. It won't make a difference when their older and grow their hair out! <3, Nathalie,Bambino and Lulu |

 I vote for TAILS! |
Tails Tails it will have to be unless you pay for surgery. tails are cute too!!! |
:thumbup: we vote for the tails to stay :) |
Tails are cute, plus they can look as nifty as Rizzo does right now. He has a "lion cut" and it looks like 3/4 of his tail was dipped in ink. It's adorable. :D |
my vote is save the tails:thumbup: |
Hola Mija, just wanted to see if you keeped thier tails? Que tengas buen dia. |
I never knew they were "supposed" to have their tails docked. When we got Charlie, he had his tail, and he's gorgeous. It was only after reading up on yorkies did I find that the tails are supposed to be docked. Personally, I think it's cruel and unnecessary. If (I should say when) I get another Yorkie, I'll ask to have the tail not docked. |
Hawkeye has his full tail. We keep his hair cut short in a puppy cut and I think nothing looks cuter than seeing his tail with it's long feathers wagging at us! |
I LOVE Yorkies with Tails.. Mine has a tail. I have a Shnoodle without a tail and so wished he had one.. If I ever get another Yorkie. It will deff be one with a tail !!! I gives them a little extra personality |
tails please keep the tails. they are a thing of beauty:D |
It's illegal in some countries to even dock their tails anymore. I think they're adorable with a tail! I wish my two girls had long tails to wag. |
I vote for keeping the tails! |
It is my understanding that tail docking and dew claw removal after a certain age is considered an amputation and will require "surgery" rather than a simple snip snip. I vote for leaving the tails -- I sincerely wish that YTCA would make recommendations to AKC to at least give breeders a choice to dock or not to dock. |

I would leave the tails too. You can tell prospective buyers that if they really want the tail docked, they can hve it done when they are under for their spay/neuter. Otherwise, I think you may find there are people who want the tail on if they are not interested in showing. |
I vote for keeping the tails. I think they are beautiful and at this time it is too late. Bella has no tail because it was docked way to short and I wish she had one. |
I don't understand why tails are docked. It just seems cruel. Leave them the way they are! |
I think the protocol says tails should be docked before 7 days on the outside. 3 weeks is way too late. Congratulations, you have yorkies with beautiful tails! :) If you want more info, you can post this question in the breeders section, but I'm pretty sure everyone will tell you to keep the tails at this point. |
I am also one who looooooves a yorkie with a tail. I wish my little CJ had a tail. :p Also like everyone else said not worth putting them under anesthesia |
