i am amazed at some of the crazy comments i get about bijou as well. most people are like "how cute" or "i love your dog" (i've had people in cars stop traffic and roll down their windows to yell this out).... a lot of times people call her a boy, even though she's bathed in PINK!! but the craziest comment was from some older woman walking past me, who said: "you can't lose weight while walking a dog" (i was giving her a leash correction at the time). haha, i just smiled.... |
I usually just smile and say something like, "Oh, no, she's quite the walker" or "it's okay, I keep water handy for her." :) |

LOL at crazy people. We get "He's so cute", " Is he supposed to be a Yorkie? Cause I've got one and IT doesn't look like yours...". She is 100% girlie girl with a cute dress on! She's 100% true yorkie! Hate the fact that they want to be all " mine is cuter than yours" um, no. I also hate that people wants to hold her or touch her without our permission, and with their dirty hands that, who knows where those hands were before grr! PS: hate the IT! Its not like I'm asking bout their kids and calling them IT too... |
Some people just don' tthink before they speak....but we always get compliments and never rude ones. |

Seriously, I worked with a girl that made a lot of nasty comments to me, but I'd just laugh... finally I frustrated her to the point she started liking me. Anyways, since Smokey is 15 lbs and Chip is 8, I always get asked if Smokey is older because he's bigger. I also get asked a lot what Smokey is mixed with because he doesn't really look all yorkie. I also sometimes get the "They're so big!" comments. I just take it with a grain of salt and consider the source. Sometimes I don't think people are trying to be rude, they just don't know another way of saying it. I have more of an issue with parents controlling their little kids around my dogs than the comments, but that's another rant all together. |

AHHH I can't stand it when people assume Levi is a girl. His collars, harnesses, leashes etc are all blue, black or green! And so many people will stop and say, "SHE'S so cute" when he is CLEARLY a boy. I also get a lot of questions about how big he will get (he is two years old and five pounds) and whether he is a Yorkie or a Silky. |

I agree with the folks who believe that a Yorkie is a dog and it is not necessary to carry them while outside. They need the exercise and walking is good for them. I have a neighbor who has a Bichon (which is twice the size of my Bailey) who bought a stroller for her dog. I see her walking with the dog in the stroller and I really don't like it. I know alot of Yorkie owners are doing the same thing. I will probably get some flak here about my opinion, but I feel the only time to pick them up outside is if there is a danger (a big dog, etc.). I've never experienced Bailey wanting to be carried when we are outside. She enjoys her walks. |
He loves the attention! My 7-month old, 3 lb Biewer, Hepburn, loves the attention he gets on the street. I live in Berlin, Germany, so every time we go out, whether he is on the leash or in his Celltei bag, everyone makes comments or looks at him. Most of them are about how cute and little he is, sometimes people stop and ask me what kind of dog he is, how old is he, and how big he will get (to which I always respond "I am not quite sure, but certainly not much bigger). The weirdest comment I have ever gotten (and this happened twice) was "Is that a long haired guinea pig?" Why would someone take a long haired guinea pig on a walk to the zoo or on vacation (which is where the comments occured)?? People are so strange!! Also, lots of people ask me where I got him from and how much I paid, which always makes me a bit uncomfortable, as I usually don't share my spending habits with people I don't know. |
I have a huge issue with people picking up Winnie. I don't know what it is, but you wouldn't walk up to a person's child and pick them up!! I get very frustrated because I am not an outspoken person but it's to the point where people are dangerous. Little kids run over and pick her up and she is SO WIGGLY because she gets excited around little persons and then they fall out of their arms. It scares me so much. I don't know how to be mean but in a nice way. They can pet her but I don't get why they run over and automatically pick her up thinking it's ok? Does anyone have suggestions on how to tell people that it's ok to pet but not pick up Winnie and say it in a nice way? |
