anythings possible I guess there was a bump associated w the scratch and it just grew larger bcs of the hair matting up in it. We trimmed all her hair off around the wound so as to keep it as clean as possible

Could it be Lyme's disease and it was a "bullseye" like humans get? If it's treated early it's not biggie? Maybe the bump was the tick bite? I'm so glad you caught it early and are taking her to the vet tomorrow. Good luck and let us know what the vet says.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't a tick. I'm going to be posting a pic in about 20 min so please stick around. I never thought I'd be as excited about going to the vet as I am about tomorrow!!

Okay so I just got home and the "owie" already looks as if it's "dried" up some. The pus looking stuff has gone down considerably after one application of bactriban. I took a pic of what it looks like now so imagine my feelings earlier as it did look worse before this pic :(

Also I waned to say that the top knot has never been used on her bcs she's got too short of hair, what I did use was an alligator clip so I can see how this easily would've or could have scraped her poor little scalp. :cry:

Thanks. I'm a blubbering mess. I feel responsible for the whole thing bcs it "could" have been a bow. My poor hub tries to understand bcs she's just a "dog" to him, but I secretly catch him ta ta'ing her saying it's gonna all be ok Precious

JMO, but it doesn't look like ringworm to me. It does look like something cut into her skin or she scratched and it got infected. Glad you are taking her in tomorrow just to be safe.

I hope it's not as bad as it looks. Just keep it clean and if you have some iodine that might help. And don't let her scratch it, it might itch.
Hopefully it's just a sore that bust open. No more alligator clips for a loooong time.

She's a trooper.

I called and they're going to get me in as soon as they open at 7 am. Of course my doctor is on call 24/7 so I can go in at anytime but I felt okay waiting 12 hours..... Hopefully they'll say I'm just being over protective and I'm doing everything right. She's been with me since really early on so I'm all she knows and the funny thing is, she's clueless as to why I'm a mess bcs she's not changed a lick!!

You are def. not the worst mom ever! The poor little baby, it will heal up soon I am sure dont beat yourself up over it!!

Don't worry it looks nice an pink it will heal. But yeah it doesn't look like fungus.

No more alligator clips period. I threw them all away. I ordered some bows from minimomo and when she's big enough to have a top knot, a LOOSE one, I'll try again then. Until then she'll have to sport bangs in her face :rolleyes: It looks worse in the pic than in person It is now the size of a dime maaaaayyybe.... that just goes to show how teeny she is
