those who use washable pee pads... how many do you go through in one day???? |
Well, I have 4 yorkies. LOL I go through 3 large ones a day. I get them from Ryan (RDB911) They are great! I change them every morning. I was in detergent and oxy clean. They wash well. |
so you dont change it EVERY pee? |
We normally use about 3 large ones a day. I have 5 furbabies who primarily all go on one large pee pad. I change my pee pads regularly throughout the day and just pick up the "dropping's" anytime they occur. I only change the pads more often if someone has a loose bowel movement or if I've had to crate them because we were out. If I need to crate them, then I have sme additional small 18x24 pads that I wash as well. |

I also don't like the look and smell of a wet pad. |

We are the same way. My four go outside for #2 and use the pads inside maybe once or twice apiece in a day. We have all three pads down at the same time in an out of the way area. Each has their favorite spot. Tide and Oxy are a must have! Every once in a while I use vineger in the rinse. |
My two use 2 a day, they are 32 x32. We might be able to go down to 1 a day if I could train them to use the middle first then work their way around the edges.:) They tend to use the outer edges first and I have to put a clean one down or they are walking through pee pee. |
I use disposable pads, but am thinking of changing to washable. Do you think they would change to them fairly easily? |

Mine didn't have a problem switching from disposable to washable pads. But I did have to remove all rugs, bc they mistake it for washables. |
I started mine on disposable and switched to washable later because I didn't like how they would destroy the disposable ones and I didn't know there was a tray for the disposable pads. Well, I hate the washable ones...my dogs now think every rug is a pee pad. I'm switching back to disposable with the tray underneath but I think it's going to take a lot of work and retraining. I hate not being able to use rugs on my hardwood floors or, worse yet, stepping on a wet spot...yuk! If you decide to use washable pads just keep in mind that your dogs might want to use carpets, rugs and anything else that feels like fabric as potty pads after that. Mine use a doggie door when we're home and a pad at night or when we leave but they don't always hit the pad...sometimes it's the rug. |

That is the one drawback to using washables. Anyone have suggestions on how to train them not to use the throw rugs. I miss my rugs our floors look so bare without them.:( I still will use washables, even if I am never able to have throw rugs again.;) |
