Local Petland Going Out of Business I found out this weekend that our local Petland is going out of business. I would often visit and ask to pet the puppies, but have never spent a penny there. So today I stopped by because I heard they were going out of business. I asked why they were closing shop and the girl said "For the past 6 months, we have become a petting zoo and no one is buying anything." I secretly celebrated and am so excited that one less pet store that buys from puppy mills is open. I could not be happier :) |

I hope this happens to more of them! It all starts with the first one. |
I would be happier, but I doubt if much is changing. Many millers are selling to puppy brokers who sell off the web, and some USDA breeders have their own websites, people seem to understand you shouldn't buy from a pet store, but they don't understand you shouldn't buy from a website. Unless you personally inspect where the dogs are being raised you are condoning the suffering of millions of dogs. I hope everyone encourages others not to buy from anyone without seeing how the dogs are being raised. |
That's good new's. Our petland is pretty good They do pet adoptions Free spay & neuter & cheap shots. |

Yes, there's still a long way to go in shutting down puppy mills, but one less is one less! Hurray! |
