HELP! at the end of my rope! My Baby Tango was like your new yorkie. He didn't like to be touched and now he turns on his back to expose his stomach to us. He still is the loner out of the 3 yorkies. And, he still can run around like a mad yorkie. He plays with his ball all the time. Just alittle hyper but he is slowing down. Some pups are wild indians and show no personality in the beginning. It will develop with patience and love from you and your family. This phase will pass and you will laugh remembering how nuts your new yorkie made all of you in the beginning. What you had with your yorkie that passed was special. What you will have with your new yorkie will be special in time. I have been where you are right now. Just watch the progress instead of the craziness. I have never met a yorkie yet that wasn't bright and loveable. The best of luck to you and your new family member. :animal-sm :animal-sm :animal-sm |
So very glad you are gonna give him a little more time! Oscar is going through a change as we speak. My daughter in law came in tonight with Occar and said "Feel his nose and feel his belly...does he feel hot to you? Something is wrong with him!" I asked her why and she said "he is being loving with me and that is not normal for him!" Be patient...best of luck with your little man. Oscar's Mom |
Gucci has being close with me from the get go, but she also wants her alone time. When we first got Gucci we have her enclosed with a baby gate in the hallway that lead to the bathroom giving her full access to it. We place the pads in the batroom. Anyway Gucci use to bite us all the time. If we used the batroom there was Gucci nibling and biting our toes. She is now 7 momths and I can say she has finally stop biting our toes. Horray!!! She also loves her tummy to be rub. She is still very active and independent but still very lovable. By the way she is not longer enclosed in the hallway. She sleeps on her bed by our bed and she uses the wee wee pads in the bathroom. I have a wee wee pad in the living room also because she was getting the habit to poop behind the TV, so i have a pad there and she poops on that pad not on the pad on the batroom weird, but at least is on the pad. Anyway I think I change the subject. Im glad your giving yourselves time to bond. Like everyone else has said every pup has different temperament. Best of luck. |
They all have such different personalities. Max my first yorkie was the perfect yorkie, he had a great life for 17 years. Maddie is 2 years old and is a little angle. Now Rudy, who is 15 months old is a little yorkie terrorist. I would think to myself you are no Max, but I realize no two are alike even if you raise then alike. I even thought like Pat said maybe he needed something I couldn't give him, since he is the one of three dogs I have. I love Rudy to death and Maddie and lucky my two other furbabies love him too. I would be so lost without Rudy I don't think I could sleep with out him by me and life would be so very dull...............................Cindy |
