| Hair of the dog.... I am sitting for a darling one year old male Yorkie. I have a 6 mo. female Yorkie. There is a considerable difference in their coats. My Gabi's is typical of a Yorkshire terriers coat, straight, smooth and silky. Harley's is much more fluffy and thicker, a lot more texture and body. they both are pure bred Yorkies. Does anyone else have a similar dog like Harley or can explain the difference in coats? I wish Gabi's was more like his! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Enjoy the silky hair !! The thicker coat is so much harder to keep looking nice - just look at my girls - one is silky (cheri) while Chanel with the long hair is alot of work !! She needs grooming all the time while Cheri barely needs anything but a bath - brush and minor grooming |

| My girl, Apple, has silky hair, and for me, it's harder to care for, because it tangles so easily...Buzz, my boy, has coarse thick hair, and doesn't mat, as much...Apple's hair is prettier, right after the bath, but she gets that greasy look, so quickly! Buzz, on the other hand, stays fresh looking 'till the next bath...So I guess they're all different...Also, Buzz' thick course hair doesn't "flow", but it might be because he's only 10 months old...These guys are like a box of chocolates, you pick one and never know what it's going to be lol... |
