Puppies from Missouri, sold in petstores are puppymill dogs. The breeders either sell through a broker service or, anymore will sell directly to pet stores. Yes, you may have the breeders name on paperwork but I can guarantee you the breeder operates what is known as a puppymill. Missouri has more puppymills than any other state. My state, Oklahoma is probably 2nd or 3rd in the number of puppymills. They don't openly call themselves puppymills, bc then most people would not buy the dogs. If you have any doubts about what I'm telling you, either post the name of the breeder listed on the papers or you can private message a member here with the name. The name will show up on some website and then with research you can find out for certain what I'm telling you is true. Dogs purchased through a petstore should not be bred. Most likely they will have health concerns that although may not affect them, could show up and affect their puppies. Hopefully you all will decide not to breed your new puppy, and will enjoy her for the pet she should be. |

It is sad that it can be difficult to find a reputable breeder. So many puppies come from mills and backyard breeders. I came to this site hoping to get advise on finding a good one. Just because a puppy is from a mill does not mean he/she should be loved any less. It is not their fault they were born into such an environment. You live, you learn. When you walk into a pet store with puppies it is so hard not to fall in love and want to take one home, but the only way to stop puppy mills is to stop buying from the places they sell to. If they can't make a profit, they will stop doing it. |
spaying I would have to say have her spayed.:) |

I still wouldn't think so, I mean the guys really nice, we got out other dog from them which just passed away, he ate something which caused him to have something wrong. All over there store they have no puppy mills posters. She came with her brother, and we know her parents names, do you guys honestly think shes a puppymill dog ? Now I think shes going to die, the vet said she was in 100% condidion, im like freaking out, si she going to be okay ? |
OMG ! Im on one of the sites fight now. I still don't think shes a mill dog, because she was in perfect condition, she can bark, loves to run, everything a normal dog would do. |

That said you must realize that no reputable breeder would ever let their puppy go to a pet store. What's that leave you with? Unreputable breeders, puppy mills. Of course they are going to deny any association with puppy mills, have you ever heard of anyone admitting to it? It makes sense for them to deny it, otherwise they would lose all their business. And having a breeder's name, the parents name means nothing. All registries require this. And often times you will see their siblings there as puppy millers sell whole litters to pet stores. No it doesn't necessarily mean she will end up sick and die but you just never know what will happen as no thought was given as to the genetics and health of her parents. Some puppy mill dogs live perfectly healthy normal lives while others don't, there is just no way of knowing which it will be, it's like playing russian roulette. Just love her and care for her and try not to worry about the future, do the best you can for her, it is all you can do. |
I mean even is she is a puppy mill dog, shes okay now. right ? |
