I have four Yorkies - one boy and two girls that are love bugs and one girl that is a little more aloof and doesn't like to snuggle or give kisses but is still affectionate in her own way. :) |

Hi, I think my tiny male is more of a snuggle bunny than my female but, my other female is a snuggle bunny just as much as my male, so I think its just the personality of the puppy/dog that shines thru, not weather its a male or female. I just adore my little yorkies! Trixx |
chester is a mamas boy, very loving, independent at times |
I never had a girl dog or a Yorkie until I got Lucy. She is the sweetest, most affectionate little thing! She loves to give kisses and snuggle up on your lap. Much different than my independent, male, Westie. Dontcha dare wake her from a nap or comfy spot though . . . she'll rip your hand off! That's the only time she gets mad. |
I have a little boy and he loves nothing more than cuddling with momma, but my sister-in-law has a girl and she's not so cuddly most of the time. |
Personally, I think you need to get one of each! :p |
I agree with most of the posts saying that it depends on the individual. I do not have a yorkie yet, but in my experience, a female can be just as loving and cuddly as any male if you get her spayed before she goes into heat. She'll be a puppy forever and give you all of her warm puppy love. My Maltese is practically addicted to me! |
I have 3 girls and they all like to cuddle...not all the time, but plenty enough. When I had only 1 girl, she loved to cozy up with me. If I sit or lay on the couch, all three will come and cozy up. I've always heard boys are more cuddly, but I sure can't complain about my girls. Congrats on getting a new baby! |
I have had a female and male yorkie, and the male is definitely more affectionate and always wants to be next to you or on you.. the females are also affectionate but sometimes they really like their private space and time alone where as the male is always next to you... this is what i have observed. |
