Even if it was IM and not PM, I would still forward it to Admin. The fact remains that they used the YT forum to contact you and attack you. Also, those addresses are already entered into the YT system so Admin should have a way to track it down. Also, many members here posted their IM names on a thread some months back so a simple search could find your person.

wendybee 10-20-2005 12:23 PM

i would post the name on here for us all to see.
there is so much cruelity (sp) in this world against animals that someone having a go about what you call your baby all i care about is that you love your baby and she loves you

I have considered leaving this site myself quite a few times because of the reactions of some! I personally don't feel there is anything wrong with the term teacup and wish everyone would get over it! Its just a word used to describe a small dog, So what! I was over 40 years old when I first started looking for my first yorkie and I knew what I wanted and had the money to pay for what I wanted so I was looking for a "teacup" dog. If I wanted a large dog I would have looked for a "Giant" I bet they wouldn't be insulted! I am animal rights activist and I am vegetarian and would never do anything to perpetuate a problem with animals and my 3 cats & 3 dogs are all spayed & neutered! I just don't get what upsets everyone so much!

i dont know what anyone has against me for saying that but i feel like i have outstayed my welcome here. i dont think i need to name any names but i love my princess a lot. small or not small, i would still love her. i wanted small so i could carry her around in my purse but even if she wasnt i would still love her so before anyone goes jumping on me about it.. please remember you dont even know me.

i have only been a member here for a few days and it doesnt seem so pleasant. what is so wrong with calling a puppy a teacup? thats what the breeder told me so what is wrong with that???

Calling you stupid is totally uncalled for. So, please don't leave because someone else doesn't know how to act properly.. thats not your problem,, its theirs.

I am sorry that you were attacked, I am sure you did not mean anything harmful by referring to your sweet baby as a "teacup" . The only thing if I may point out is that I believe as so do many other people here or on the forum that there is no such thing a "teacup" . In many litters you will sometimes get what is called a "runt". That sometimes gives some people the idea that because they are smaller they can compare it to the size of a teacup, you will even see pictures of these cute pups taken around or inside these teacups, but sometimes it is just used to measure or compare the size. Breeders tend to charge OUTRAGEOUS prices for these smaller ones because they promise they will stay small, and truly no one can really guarantee you that. But please don't feel that you need to leave this site because of someone else's opinion. I apologize myself for this person and just see beyond this situation put it behind you and enjoy everyone else's good humor and knowledge. I will guarantee you will meet lifelong friends and learn alot of knowledge you might one day need. I can only say that I hope you stay and look past this. Hope to continue seeing you on here, by the way ,can you post of pic of your little one I am dying to see what she looks like!

P.S don't feel bad, My little Gizmo is very difficult to dress right now too, even the X-Small fits him BIG and after I put it on he nudges it off!! AHHH THAT LIL" STINKER!! But I luv him!! :) Gizmo is 4 months old.

Cindy's mom :bravo: I commend you on your discription of teacup! very well put! 4TheLuvofYorkie First let me welcome you :wavey: to Ytalk and I am sorry your first few days here was a bad welcome and please do not take it personal! even though that person used the word stupid! No One here is stupid! alot of us on here Me being one learned there is no such thing! although I never believed a small Yorkie is a teacup? It is only a term used just like Cindy'smom perfect analogy of the term, I have noticed new YTalkers always being attacked for using this term (discription). And I hope you and Princess do not leave us! Im sure this person is sorry! so please except our welcome and please share you babys picture when you do get her dressed :D

chachi 10-20-2005 03:02 PM

I am sorry someone did this to you. I dont agree with the use of the word teacup but also dont feel the need to blast somebody when they use it either. Its been a marketing term for some breeders and of course people are going to pick up on that. When someone does use it its usually a new person who probably feels alinenated after being corrected or blasted. It just seems unnecessary.

Latuya 10-20-2005 03:15 PM

I'm sorry someone may you feel bad. I am so glad you decided to stay. I try so hard to stay out of the drama that can and does go on around here. But I really do love it here. You can be sure to find me pretty much around the clock throughout the day. I would be logged on all day if I didn't have to share the computer with my family. Like I said so glad your sticking around. I look foward to reading more about you and your furbaby! And of course pictures. Oh and one other thing,,,,, I also have a "teacup" And I love all 2.9 lbs of him to death!!!!!!

MeganS 10-20-2005 03:17 PM

I'm so sorry someone did that to you! glad you decided to stay! you will see very quickly that 99.9 % of us are wonderful! :) no one should EVER call you stupid! thats just rude and very mean! who ever said that, shame on you! i, personally, don't agree with the term teacup, but blasting soemone for using it is NOT right!

Wolftrap 10-20-2005 03:23 PM

Don't leave because of that. I am one that actually does believe in the word teacup. If there is a such thing as a "runt" then there is a such thing as a "teacup" they both have the same meaning. You say tomayto I say Tomaato. A teacup is just a runt by a fancier name. People get too carried away with something that is just a description to describe a "runt". If breeders are charging more for a "runt" then they are the dumb ones but its just a darn word people need to get over it.

shelbysmom 10-20-2005 03:33 PM

The teacup term gets way too much attention around here and I really hope we can stop it. As I have posted before, it's just a word. (sometimes a marketing term...but no different than Tiny)

When I saw your first post about costumes I was concerned that someone might say something mean. I hoped I was wrong.

Just know that even the people that spoke out of line love these dogs. Maybe your experience will finally put an end to some of the hurtful stuff on this board.

One can hope.

Best wishes and welcome.

I must be a day behind. Im just now reading this and I was on yesterday.
I dont think its right for any one to Pm anyone with any attack. If we all dont agree oh well. We should just move on.

txshopper73 10-21-2005 07:31 PM

AAHHH!!! Nevermind, I know NOW!

txshopper73 10-21-2005 07:32 PM

Do you REALLY think it's her?

Marie 10-21-2005 07:53 PM

Im glad that you decided to stay. It is wrong for someone to pm or im another member to attack. My Gucci is also small. I just dont use the term cause it causes so much controversy cause the Yorkie association says there is not such thing. If some breeders woulndt use the term to high up prices i bet the term woulndt bother as much. Anyhow, im so happy you decided to stay and didnt give this person the satisfaction. This person that did this should be ashame.

welcome to yt,
i havn't been on yt much lately. i'm not sure what thread started all this but i'm glad you didn't let one bad incident turn you away. most people here are very nice. it's hard sometimes joining in on a group such as this, but it will pass. this is a good place to learn information. thats what this forum is suppose to be for. it wasn't until i joined this forum that i learned there was no teacup yorkies. i didn't even know what puppymills were. i was ignorant to alot of things. but i learned by reading threads and than researching. you should be educated on the issue not sent mean and nasty messages. i'm sorry you had to deal with that. hopefully after this that doesn't happen to you or anybody else for that matter again. :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown

Bentley&BitsysMom 10-22-2005 02:50 AM

And we also all have to remember that we weren't born with knowledge about yorkies. It's all learned and I honestly learned EVERYTHING I know about them on HERE!! No one should think more highly of themselves for knowing more than another person and take it upon themselves to put someone down who hasn't yet learned. Learning about yorkies starts somewhere for everyone and for a vast majority it starts when you get your first one. I still learn something new about them just about everyday!

red98vett 10-22-2005 05:56 AM

I agree Michelle...but I think there is a reason people people are having a problem with this poster because she stated she made her yorkie sleep outside due to barking....and locked her in a pantry...

I have a feeling this is more of a scam than a real yorkie lover posting this Teacup thread. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20503

I just want to suggest that professional help is available out there for anyone who needs it. Every yellow pages has listings for counseling/psychiatry. Have a nice day.
