Well I will pick him up either next tuesday or june 1. (I am currently in the process of moving and do not want to put a new dog in that kind of a situation) I am very excited. Now I have to ask (grew up in a home with a yorkie and golden so this will not be my first dog i've lived with) this will be my first dog I have "owned". Should I take him straight to the vet after picking him up or wait a week or two? He is up to date on his shots but he will have to be neutered(but I will wait a few months before doing that). He seemed very healthy and strong. | my experience has been with breeders whom you sign a contract with. In the contract its stated that you'll take the dog to your vet within 24 hours of possession. If after being checked with the vet I wanted to return the dog I have that option for a full refund or another puppy.
I said all that to say, if your contract dictates when to take to the vet use that guideline. If its your choice I'd take the dog to the vet in the first 72 hours to be safe. |
