We have a pool and we never let those boys out there alone. Unattended, they could fall in and drown. For safety, I recommend people w/ pools have a Skamper Ramp (cheap, easy to install). We sometimes let our babies in the pool in summer and they like it (though they like a lake much better). Be sure to bathe them after a pool bc of the chemicals :). |

If you are going to be around water I would suggest a lifejacket too. All of mine have one when we take them out on our boat. :) |

A dear friend of mine lost his dog who fell into the pool at night because the gate was not shut.it only took 5 minutes.:( I remember warning him about this and he said, oh the dog knows better we have lived here for 10 years...I will never forget him calling me, crying to tell me what happened. Living in AZ with so many pools I was always shocked at how many little children also drowned...just tragic and it doesn't need to happen. |
i take gatsby to the local park to swim this may seem strange but we have a long (several miles) pretty clean stream that we are allowed to get in the rule is pretty much if you want to get in go ahead but we have to wear clothes no bathing suites in the park anyway i called and they told me thear wear no rules against dogs in the water so we took the dogs down got right in the water with them and swam around for like two hours when gatsby got tired he would clime out and walk on the land(exdendable leach) it was alot of fun and he swam fine |
My Jackson *loves* water of ANY kind.... he just loves it. He will dive in the pool (if we're in it), he loves to run along the ocean on the beach, he loves ponds, lakes, puddles, any kind of water he can find, LOL. I just invested in a doggie lifejacket for when we visit over my dad's house with his pool and we tried it out today and he loved it. His most favorite thing to do though is lay down on the top step and just chill out and cool off. My 5 year old brother died in 2006 from drowning so I'm very over-protective around the water. |
Here's our swimming pool! |
Coral loves to swim. She gets on the first step, swims a few feet, turns around, and gets back out at the steps. I always make show i show her where the steps are at a new pool. She only swims for a couple minutes, but seems to love it. |
1 Attachment(s) oops problem with pic..... Here we go |

This looks brilliant. We will have to get this if we decide to take him into the big pool. Right now, he loves the inflatable baby pool. Great idea. |
