I love yorkies for their beauty and personality. I love the terrier personality they have yet they can be so affectionate and calm at the same time. Perfect combination if you ask me. Not too much terrier to dominate them but just enough to make it more interesting. I first fell in love with them though by their looks. Nothing more beautiful than a yorkie in a full coat strutting its stuff!! Then after I met one for the first time I fell in love with their sweet but big dog in a little package personalities. I was hooked from day 1!! |

I completely agree! Through my life I've had all different breeds of dogs and Tobie is by far the most child-like. He's so smart because he's so curious about everything (just like a toddler) and I swear he understands most of what I say. He is adorable, hilarious, loving, feisty, playful (I could go on and on). I love all my dogs but my Yorkie is my little baby boy. |
i think we're all biased! i went out in search of a yorkie, but i came across a fox terrier at the animal shelter who i fell in love with. i still love yorkies and i still want one, but i've found that my little fox is just as perfect as if i'd found my yorkie! she's the most loving little thing ever - she's great with my kids - the list goes on. i don't think the breed REALLY matters - i think if you're a dog lover, you're biased! yes, yorkies are great, but i wouldn't trade my fox for anything in the world! |

the best soulmates to ever have. they read us like a book, lol :D |
I didn't choose a Yorkie, It found me...little lost dog, weeks of looking for an owner who didn't microchip...now I love him as much as the humane society, Marvin the mutt. They are truely a sweet little dog. I may say his name is Fizzgig....but he will always be lil'bit |
I originally wanted a pug but I'm so alergic! :( After looking at what my "hair" dog options were i decided on a yorkie. I met a woman who was walking her yorkie, Frankie. After I told her I was considering one she picked Frankie up and plopped her in my arms. I fell in love with her. I must admit Audrey Hepburn owning one kind of sealed the deal. |
Because of there meaningful little eyes.... and the fact that they do not shed. I don't even think of my Harley as a dog...she is my babygirl thru and thru. |
I'm attracted to "Terriers" for some reason, however my very favorite breed is the German Shepard. Living in a condo it wasn't fair to have such a big dog, IMO and a friend had a female Yorkie. So adorable and small. I read up on the breed and liked that they had the Terrier attitude. So, hence, Buddy. I have to say I did got more than I bargained for but wouldn't change a thing, well at least not much.;) |
They love to snuggle, are VERY sweet, very fun, and they are beautiful! Just to name a few reasons!:D |
I'm a very...logical person. When I make a big decision, I always have to weigh the pros and cons of each option. So I did a LOT of research and reading before I settled on a Yorkie. I also strongly agree with this statement: Quote:

That is exactly what Cerise is like. She hugs and kisses me and does little things that no matter what I never get upset. The love she gives me is so uplifting! |
Needed hypo-allergenic type and small enough to carry on and off the boat. (My 90lb mutt couldn't get on & off in her old age) and had some hand surgery in the fall 2009 so needed a small furbaby I could manage and take my mind off my hand. |
They show emotions so much like humans. They are always fun and always devoted. They are always up for an adventure and also willing to just lay back and relax with you. They love being around people and other doggies alike. They are very social and are playful all of their lives, too.:p |
They are like little people |
