we found a yorkie 4 Attachment(s) My husband was out last night and came back around 2am when he almost ran into a yorkie on the street in our neighborhood. He called to tell ask me if he should grab it and I told him he should because I remember seeing a neighbor walking her yorkie when I was walking Bella and she had pointed out her house but I wasn't exactly sure which one it was. Anyways, the yorkie was too running away from him so he came home and got me and we both went out in the middle of the night to track this yorkie down. It's sad knowing someone's yorkie will be spending the night outside and lost...so we spent an hour chasing this yorkie around the neighborhood. She was damn fast for us and everytime we got close, she would take off running the opposite way. At around 3:30am we decided to head home since we lost it in the dark since it was running into allies and such. When we got to our gate, she was there and we happened to corner her. We kept it overnight and this morning we took her walking around the block to see if she would know where to take us and she took us straight to her house. Last night she was on the opposite side of the neighborhood and that was probably why she couldn't find her house. The older lady who owned the yorkie had just gotten out of bed and didn't even realized her yorkie was missing. She said she was wondering why her dog wasn't in her bed and was about to look for her when we came knocking. It was so nice seeing how excited the yorkie was to see her owner again. I can't imagine how I would feel if my Bella went missing and I was thinking, what if someone else found her yorkie and didn't return her:( But, I know every yorkie owner would spend an hour or two in the middle of the night chasing down someone's lost yorkie. I'm so proud of myself :D Now pictures.... My Bella is off leash and the yorkie is on the leash |
Pleassse move in next to me. I would love a neighbor like you guys. Great work. |
Good for you. You have a good heart. You made a furbaby and Mommy very happy. :bravo: |
Awesome thing you did !! And I know what you mean about trying to catch her - last week I drove home from work and there was a Cheri look alike running around my little apartment complex I FREAKED and stopped thinking it was my girl - then knew right away it wasn't - poor baby was soaked from the rain and scared....I did everything I could to corral her but every time I got close she took off - I could tell she WANTED me to help her but was confused - after maybe 40 minutes I lost her for real - so I raced home - grabbed treats and went back and she was no where to be found - I called my apartments to let them know someone was missing a tiny yorkie and kept looking - with help - we did finally track her down but man - it took 2 hours - they are so fast I know her mom must have been so grateful to you - it could easily have gone the other way so yes - BE PROUD OF YOURSELF ! |
You 2 are GREAT Neighbors !! So glad you took the time to catch this yorkie and return her. The older woman wouldn't have been able to do that trekking like you two did. so glad to know we have GOOD people out there !!! Salutes to you both. |
Not many people would have done what you and your husband did. It was honorable and selfless :thumbup: I am sure the pup was beyond happy to have found a caring face. |
I hope if one of my crew every gets lost, someone like you finds them! That was so nice of you! |
:good job::bravo: Hats off...to you & hubby!!!! You both are kind, caring, wonderful hearts!!! One safe little baby back home!! |
You and your husband are wonderful neighbors!! |
Being 33 weeks pregnant and running around the block to catch that yorkie wasn't fun but I'm so glad we did it. Hubby actually ran home to grab treats but everytime we got close to her, she took off running. I'm so glad it wasn't someone else who found her though...just the thought of them keeping an innocent yorkie away from their owner or even possibly selling her for money. I would be so sad. Hubby thought it was a raccoon running across the street when he was driving and almost hit it and he said he actually thought it was our Bella when he got a closer look but then it wasn't. It was a crazy night but I'm glad she's home now. I told my Bella she better not go wondering off but she probably doesn't understand me. I hope there's other good people out there too. :D |
What wonderful neighbors y'all are! :animal-pa |
You win the good neighbor award!! Now maybe you guys can set up playdates for your furbutts:) |
Good Job:thumbup::thumbup: and I love the picture of your husband walking the two down the street....:) |

YAY for You and Hubby!!! Great job in saving her, my gosh, if it wasn't for you two going the extra mile searching for her in the middle of the night, she probably wouldn't be home safe and sound now! THANK YOU  |
Awesome job, it just goes to show there are good people still. You should be proud and I know the little yorkie's momma is so glad you are good neighbors. |
There truly are angels among us, and you proved it. Bless you and your husband for running after her in the middle of the night like that! I think you two have earned a few new feathers in your wings. ;) |
Good job you guys!!!! What a great ending to the story! |
you can move into my neighborhood any time you want to! Bravo to you and hubby.... |
That's so wonderful! I was surprised the lady didn't even miss her and she'd been gone since the night before? She wondered why she wasn't in her bed? Wow! |
That is so sweet! I'm so glad to hear happy stories like these! You're such a great neighbor :) |
Thank goodness there are neighbors like you! You did a great thing. By the pictures it looks like the roving Yorkie is a bit of a TeaPot. Was she chunky or is it all hair? She looks like she is in very good condition. I love all the hair! |
What wonderful people you are! |
Thank goodness she was found by such loving people. |
Good Job ! and Bella is looking Great. |

You and your husband are wonderful neighbors. Its not many honest people out here that would return such a expensive high demand treasure. Expect good karma :) |
Awesome rescuing that sweet little girl from who knows what! One thought...I read here some time ago that if your pet gets off leash for some reason the best way to get them to come back to you is not to go after them but to make it a game of chasing you instead. i've used this a couple times when Tuffy has gone out the door with MILs Jack Russell; just turned around, called out "look" & started skipping the other way...he gave chase & I snatched him up! :) |
