Was I crazy to do this? Okay about 3 weeks ago i took my baby :aimeeyork Tucker to go shopping in georgetown(washington DC) with me, and I was crossing the street with my boyfriend and friend ,and a car full of people pulled up and asked to see him. Of course I obliged and one woman rolled down her window and I let her hold him,and she let the person inside the car beside her hold him also. Then the light turned green, and it looked to me like the driver of the car was going to pull off, with my tucker still in the womans hands  ! So doing the only "sane" thing I could do, I panicked OPENED her car door, and snatched my baby away. The driver of the car then said that she was just going to pull over to the curb,so other people wouldn't have to drive around her. Maybe I over reacted LOOOOOOOL but my friend who was with me, just told me about her friend, who's yorkie was stolen by a neighbor.Plus the driver should of told me what she was doing before she tried to drive , CONSIDERING a passenger in her car was still holding :aimeeyork Tucker  !!! I'd rather be safe then sorry LOOOOOOOOOOOL! Was I crazy for doing this looooooooooool! |
Not at all! People now days will do anything to get what they want and they definitely should have told you what they planned on doing. I don't know if I would ever be able to let someone in a car that I didn't know hold one of my babies. I am a worry wart and would be panicking the whole time! |
I don't think so at all. I don't think I would of let them hold him, but that's just me. But I would of done the same thing. They would of had to scrape me off the windshield if they tried to drive away with my baby. |
You were more trusting than I ... I would have politely declined to begin with! :) I can understand too, your never dreaming the car would move with your little Tucker in it!! The driver should've known what it looked like when they let the car move & your baby still in there! You shouldn't feel badly about the way you reacted ... heck, I would've reacted worse than just snatching him out of the car!! ;) |

Not at all! I would have done the same thing. I heard the same story over the summer. Only they did pull away!!! So, your lucky, I don't think you should do it again, as you were very lucky this time. :) |
I would have opened that door and grabbed my dog too. You just never know what peoples intentions are. I am sure you were shook up! |
was i crazy no, you were not crazy. I did the dumbest thing when I had only had Ceeby for one week. I stopped at a little mom pop grocery to get a soft drink out of an outside machine. I saw this SUV go by, then it turned around. This very nice lady chased me down and asked all about Ceeby. Said she was looking to buy one so I gave her my name and number to call so I could give her my breeders number. The machine took my money and this lady was so nice, without thinking, i asked her if she wanted to hold him while I went inside to get a drink. i thought i couldn't take him in the store. I was lucky, she carried him into the store with me. I have never heard from her to give her my breeders number after I told her what I paid for him. After it was ovwr, I was shaking at how stupid I had been. It could have been a thief. Fortunately for me it wasn't. but I learned my lesson. No one will ever hold my Ceeby again. I MIGHT let them pet him if they ask first but no one is going to hold him. |
I completely agree with you all, that was the last time i ever let anyone in a vehicle hold my baby! Thanks I'm starting to feel better, i 've been very paranoid ever since |
No! that sounds like the PERFECT dog snatching plan! Better to be safe than sorry later. You did the right thing,,, I have done some pretty dumb things, like- let STRANGERS in to use the phone. and later thought WHY did I do that... But, ya dont want them to think, you think they are crazy, but ya just dont know these days..there are some REAL wackos out there. |

You were absolutely right to do that! I never and I mean never let someone hold my Snoodles! For one thing she is too wiggly and someone could drop her and really injure or kill her. I just tell them she bites and pees all over strangers! That usually does it! Ha! Pat |
